Another Danish giraffe Marius is threatened with death.

A few days ago, the public was shocked by the news that at the Copenhagen Zoo, it was decided to kill the absolutely healthy one-and-a-half-year-old giraffe Marius. His only fault was the unfortunate genes that made him unfit for breeding. Fuel to the fire was added by the fact that his body was fed to lions in front of parents with children who were admitted to the "event" for educational purposes. The event was discussed at all levels - from animal welfare societies and the world press to, it seems, all facebook in the world. The rational arguments of Darwinists came up against emotional perception — in general, consensus on this issue was impossible to achieve. Representatives of the zoo said that after the death of Marius received a barrage of threats to his address.

Today it has become known that a similar fate can comprehend another "mediocre" giraffe living in Denmark - by tragic coincidence of circumstances he is also called Marius, he is 7 years old. He lives in the zoo Jyllands, located 10 km from the city of Herning, whose population of giraffes may soon be replenished by a female. A spokeswoman for the zoo, Yanni Poulsen, said that she “fully supports the decision of her colleagues from Copenhagen and the wave of protests that swept across the country and the world will not affect the verdict.” However, she noted that not many giraffes live in Denmark, and it is surprising that there were namesakes among them.

Russian political figures did not stand aside: the President of the Republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, suggested taking the Danish giraffe to him. The message to the Danish authorities Kadyrov published in the same place where he always makes political statements - in his Instagram account. Kadyrov guaranteed that he would ensure good conditions for the giraffe and care for his health.
