8 main shows of Ukrainian Fashion Week

FOLLOWING THE FASHION WEEKS IN NEW YORK, LONDON, MILAN AND PARIS STAR local shows. The first - at the Ukrainian Fashion Week, which was held from 9 to 13 October. Wonderzine fashion editor Liza Kologreeva went to events to tell about the most remarkable collections of Ukrainian designers. Now she collects the eight most remarkable UFW shows.

Work with materials - Natalia Kamenskaya and Olesya Kononova's horse. They sew dresses made of silk with pile and leather, attach pieces of Swarovski marble to clutches, and glasses and jewelry are cut out of ebonite. Girls are experimenting with prints for the first time: photos of concrete and pebbles from the street where their showroom is located are painted on dresses with cut-off sleeves and puffy skirts.

Collection Litkovskaya SS 2014

Lila Litkovskaya succeeds in making things from perforated leather: dresses that are worn over tight-fitting dresses, slightly voluminous coats and skirts, which are successfully combined with shirt-dresses made of thick gray silk. The basic things are emerald blouses and skirts, simple white dresses and brown raincoats. For the evening, the designer creates dresses of two types of material: from the front - from pressed silver silk (he sits freely), and from the back - from thick beige (he emphasizes the figure in contrast).

Collection Bevza SS 2014

Simple silhouettes are complicated by prints with a rhombus, a combination of heavy and light fabrics, such as leather and chiffon, and textures — some of the fabrics are crinkled (ok, taking care of them will not be easy, but it's worth it). Svetlana Bevza is one of the few Ukrainian designers who dress from head to toe. The clothes are complemented with neat silver earrings, necklaces and bracelets, black and white glossy clutches and the latest seasons fetish - slippers, similar to home ones.

Poustovit SS14 Collection

Lilia Pustovit releases models on the catwalk in tops with cut-off sleeves and prints with the Poustovit logo, which she hasn’t done before. The move is reasonable from a commercial point of view: T-shirts and sweatshirts have long become one of the best-selling items from Carven, Givenchy, and Kenzo. Another unusual moment for a Ukrainian woman is a print with a logo and flowers around it, painted in a rainbow spectrum. A print-like pattern appeared on light coats of white and pink.

Collection Artemklimchuk SS 2014

Units of Ukrainian designers arrange shows in separate locations. Artem Klimchuk made up his mind and sent the guests on Saturday evening to the “Forest Dock” club. The guy does not change his corporate style: he shows silk dress-shirts, shirts (this time with large sequins) with a pair of slightly bulky trousers, all this combines with New Balance. Klimchuk says that it is not very appropriate to show minimalistic collections in 2013, so he takes every thing away from simplicity: due to prints with a cage and flowers, glitter décor and fragments of quotations from Soviet times - "citius, altius, fortius" and " per aspera ad astra. "

Collection Elenareva SS 2014

Elena Reva, like most Ukrainian designers, is committed to minimalism. In the new season, she shows branded clean silhouettes in black and white colors - these are spacious T-shirts and wide trousers and overalls, which the designer combines with her own shoes, created in a factory working, say, with Sergio Rossi. The main thing in the collection is the prints of the Ukrainian artist Lada Nakonechna. If you look closely, you can see the price of their creation in the pictures.

Kireeva SS14 collection

Ksenia Kireeva is a designer who is quite famous to the general public thanks to journalist Miroslav Douma: she often put on her things. Her new collection is again minimalistic, there are dresses, shirts, knitted T-shirts with metallic tops on top, voluminous skater skirts. However, Kireeva comes up with interesting details. For example, the cutout line of the dress on one shoulder resembles the jacket's lapel.

Collection Nadya Dzyak SS 2014

Although we watched spring-summer shows, the colors saw little: on the minds of the designers are still black and white. The collection of a young Ukrainian woman, Nadia Dziak, looks quite advantageous: she starts with khaki suits, continues with dresses in a small multi-colored print, reminiscent of national Ukrainian embroidery, and finishes with shirts and skirts with paintings. If these things, as well as herbal and orange dresses, are not expensive, then investing in them next summer would be a good idea.
