On the edge of the earth: What to buy from Australian cosmetics brands

Text: Margarita Virova

The only reason why cosmetics from Australia To this day, she did not go around the world as widely as the Korean one - these are transportation difficulties. You probably already know everything else: Australian manufacturers are using the riches of the specific nature of the continent with might and main, trying to create natural products and are interested in searching for the perfect combination and concentration. The Australian cosmeceuticals, which is now available in Russia, deserves no less attention. We decided to talk about eight brands that have already earned fame outside their homeland.

Kevin murphy

The story told in all press releases sounds quite standard for a brand specializing in hair care products. Kevin Murphy is one of the most successful hairdressers in Australia who worked for all possible glossy magazines and even held the position of leading stylist for Vogue Australia for a while. Looking at the lifeless hairs of models at fashion shows, Kevin Murphy decided that the ideal hair care products do not exist to this day, which means that he needs to create them.

I must say what happened. Attractive packaging is not the only thing the brand's products can boast: it consists of interesting cocktails with a minimal amount of questionable substances. There is no point in grabbing everything, but Kevin Murphy’s attention to individual care and styling products is worth it - the chances that you stumble upon the care or styling of your dreams are very high. Among other things, the brand is ethical: no tests on animals, and some of the proceeds from sales are sent to the Australian Conservation Foundation, a foundation that combats climate change.

Ultraceuticals

Cosmeceuticals with killer compositions, giving excellent results. Her creator is dermatologist Jeffrey Heber, who over the years of practice has been convinced that in cosmetology not enough attention has been paid to the problems associated with photoaging and hyperpigmentation. Given the climatic circumstances in the form of the scorching Australian sun, I want to believe that the brand has earned the trust of local consumers for a reason. Concentrations of active ingredients (retinol, lactic acid, ascorbic acid) in Ultraceuticals products are not at all domestic, therefore positive changes can be detected even after the first use.

Pay attention to the brand is for those who are looking for effective products with acids: they are part of the composition of most products and are the basis of development. The ruler for sensitive skin was also successful - the tools actually perform their tasks without causing unwanted reactions. There are also products for skin with acne - according to reviews, extremely effective. If you decide to try it, remember to concentrate and take care of this care: almost all products require mandatory protection from the sun and other simple additional measures during the period of use.

Intraceuticals

Attention: heavy luxury! The brand is famous for developing an effective oxygen therapy technique, often advertised as a “star selection” and is used in many expensive beauty salons around the world. The procedure of the same name with the use of the device is popular because it has very few contraindications: it is resolved during pregnancy, does not conflict with injections, does not cause increased sensitivity to the sun. In general, if you do not pay attention to the atmosphere of unattainable Hollywood chic that has developed around Intraceuticals, then, first of all, it is fair salon tools that work exactly as stated, without side effects. Especially I want to note the boosters and serums - they are well absorbed and quickly make the skin smooth. Means for problem skin are no less worthy, but require, of course, consultation with a doctor.

Skin doctors

Again cosmeceuticals - this time the prices are sparing, but the products are also decent. The principle of success is the same as that of Ultraceuticals: manufacturers do not reduce the concentrations of components to a conditionally safe “home” level, and due to this the means work as they should. Most of the tools are aimed at eliminating specific problems such as rosacea, vascular asterisks, there are several products that fight hair growth after epilation, and an apparatus for home microdermabrasion. In matters of cleansing, Skin Doctors generally tried their best: for example, they produce a product that maintains the pH balance of the skin, quite suitable for washing almost everyone. If you want to reduce facial wrinkles, then there is a suitable medium.

Jurlique

Here we come to the holy of holies of the Australian cosmetic industry - brands that produce products with the most natural compositions. The history of the foundation is romantic: in the 1980s, the German biochemist Jürgen Klein and his wife moved from Germany to Australia, not exhausted by civilization, and brought themselves a farm, and along with it a brand of cosmetics, still popular. In fact, it is impossible to completely name an organic brand, since all the components standard in cosmetics are in place - it is quite possible that this is a very healthy balance. Manufacturers are very well able to cleansers and a variety of masks. Everything is safe and simple, but the brand cannot boast of something really suitable for problematic and sensitive skin. For everyone else, it makes sense to try without fear.

Aesop

First of all, we recall the rumpled tubes, pharmacy design and bravado with absolute naturalness. It is not difficult to buy in Russia for a long time already, it makes sense to take recognizable banks on a trip - their cost is low, and many funds in their homeland are treated with great love. There are products with a uniquely high level of comfort in the application. For example, a lip cream that does not fall on a sliding film is quickly absorbed and performs the tasks of moisturizing and softening very well. Funds for problem skin are also often recommended, but you should always look at the compositions separately: usually alcohol and mineral oil are available, and other ingredients considered controversial. Nevertheless, there is more praise for the brand than complaints.

Napoleon perdis

Decorative cosmetics in the Australian market is not represented in such an incredible variety as caring, but nevertheless there are cases such as, for example, Napoleon Perdis. The creator of the brand is a professional make-up artist, in whose baggage there is a wunderkind legend about how he created his first brush at the age of 13 to help his mother make a beautiful evening make-up. Now Napoleon Perdis is an award-winning professional who regularly travels between New York and Sydney, which does not prevent him from engaging in the production of his own cosmetics quite tightly. At first glance, all products look standard and understandable, but in some you feel the hand of a makeup artist-inventor. On the website of the brand there is a blog flooded with video tutorials and constantly updated: they follow the trends and talk about the basic and the latest techniques.

BECCA

The most accessible item on our list and another representative of the family of decorative cosmetics. The history of BECCA cosmetics created by makeup artist Rebecca Morris Williams began with a search for formulas of ideal tonal means - now a decent amount of products of different shades are represented in the assortment. Well, just about everything: if you decide to collect funds to create the desired tone from one cosmetic shelf, you will not lose. In the assortment there is an outstanding cream sculptor in one shade - hardly universal, but very convenient and suitable for beginners. It is worth paying attention to the brushes - they are as well thought out as the products with non-capricious and comfortable textures.
