Art Manager Nastya Slavasta about favorite outfits
FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. This week our heroine is art manager Nastya Slavasta.
Childhood is doomed to be fun when you're dressed up in a balaclava with pom-poms and neon leggings. The kitsch of the ninetieth Vietnamese production and dance and theater circles determined my attitude to clothes: it should set the artistic and joyful mood, turn everything into a game. So, when the time came to zero, when it was time to decide on a subculture, my friend and I decided on punk: we went to sleeping areas in dress coats and ballet tutus sewn for performances.
Several years ago in the UK, we harmoniously developed history: friends there dressed in dusty velvet costumes and collected glass balls for divination. My pianist friend accompanied Vivienne Westwood on the show and from time to time received postcards with rebellious messages and various little things from her; a headband with the inscription "CHAOS", for example, we wore in turns. In my images and the images of friends, I most of all love the balance between irony and aesthetics.
Scottish swapshop trousers, Prado Museum T-shirt, Ernesto Dolani boots
T-shirt with the motif of the picture Velazquez bought in the Prado Museum in Madrid, and found trousers in Edinburgh in a swapshop - a place where you can donate unwanted clothes and choose something equivalent in return. British appraisers have their own system: they proved that three pairs of my uniform trousers are equal to one pair in a cage. Pants survived queer balls, passes across the Scottish Highlands, taxidermist reception in the cabin, an interview with Luke Tuymans and a hundred days of study at The Elephant House where Joan Rowling wrote Harry Potter.
Mom's top, Megastil pants, Vagabond shoes
Mesh top brought mother from Southeast Asia about fifteen years ago. I love to wear it instead of the top of a swimsuit and with these pants from "Megastil". The entire outfit cost less than five euros.
Jacquemus Hat, Twin-Set Dress
I tried to go out in this hat in April and for a long time ran after her in a hurricane. We'll have to wait another season, so while dancing in it at home under the "Sea, sex and sun" by Serge Gainsbourg.
Acne Studios skirt, Dolce & Gabbana top, Loriblu shoes
I found a suede skirt during my first trip to Copenhagen for the documentary film festival CPH: DOX. Cinemas and lecture halls of the festival are scattered around the city, and Acne Studios Outlets are hiding between them.
Instead of a top for a skirt, she wore a Dolce & Gabbana lace coat and went to visit her grandmother. She always threatened to send me to the show "Fashion sentence" - until I came up with the same outfit for her.
Gucci Jacket, Pinko Jeans, Vagabond Shoes
Pinko jeans were presented to me by my mother. They became one of the most provocative things in the wardrobe, the inscription "Love me tender" attracts both cameras and new acquaintances.
Cap from Tokyo, Lui's jeans, Isabel Marant top, Loriblu shoes
I like the feeling of a combination of dense and weightless things. Jeans bought in a men's store in Tokyo, a cap - in the shop with fishing accessories in the Japanese market.
Zara top, Jacquemus skirt, Vagabond shoes
Skirt from Petersburg Au Pont Rouge, I wear it for work with top of color of an ivory. Taking this opportunity, I want to say hello: JACQUEMUS, TU ES TROP COOL!
Palm Angels dress, Vagabond shoes
Black dress is suitable for evening events, and for every day. This cut with a floor length with high growth looks dramatic.
Cover from the dress Sultanna Frantsuzova, body Grishko, shoes Vagabond
I saw this dress on the shop window in the desolate point of the city. It set such a contrast to the sad situation around that there was a thought to leave the thing behind the glass for harmony - but in the end I bought it. I replaced the quickly creased backing of the dress with a swimsuit from the Grishko ballet shop and danced for three years.
Zara skirt, Uterqüe top, Moschino bag, Loriblu shoes, brooch from an Edinburgh antique shop
The top of the Uterqüe reminds me of the form of the high school students from a religious school, next to which I once lived. The collar is held on an Art Nouveau brooch, one of my few jewelery. Wonderful bag Moschino bought five years ago in an outlet near Rome.
Suitcase OOKONN
I did not know where to look for a suitcase, and heard colleagues discussing OOKONN, presented only at Net-A-Porter. It was planned trip to France, so that the inscription identified the purchase.
Panama The North Face, Han Kjøbenhavn Cap
Glasses from a Japanese souvenir shop
Favorite glasses, bought in a shop at a Japanese mountain lake. Someone compares them in them with Takeshi Kitano, and someone noticed that the glasses perfectly emphasize the dreaminess of the eyes.
University of Birmingham icon
All the most important on the icon of a graduate of the University of Birmingham: mermaid, two-headed lion and Latin "Through thorns - to the stars."
Bag carven
If I had to choose only one brand for life, I’ll choose Carven.
