Arrows, piercing, sparkles: The most fashionable makeup of the year
2014 brought the mountain beautiful - and in the direct, visual sense. Despite the fact that we primarily focus on internal sensations and needs, rather than trends, we are very pleased to follow the work of the leading makeup artists at fashion weeks. Today we remembered the images that were remembered most of all, and tell us why it seems to us that they reflect the spirit of the times and are worthy of any interpretations.

This work of makeup artist James Caliardos was not discussed only by the lazy: it is difficult to surprise the children of the 80s and 90s with piercings, but he did it. By the way, now the piercing is back in fashion: it is imitated by cosmetics (we too), using cuffs or laconic removable rings. If the septum seems too brutal and does not want to leave marks on the face, such dummy earrings seem to us to be very convenient and - so far - a non-banal way to revitalize the usual natural makeup and make it more strict.

False eyelashes also began to appear frequently on the catwalks, moreover, in pointedly pretty or, sorry, fatal images: so it was at the autumn shows of Gucci and Versace (looking back at the established two or three years ago and the not yet gone trend on the spider legs that the current popularity of false eyelashes is not so amazing). Next season we are offered to wear them on the doll face, only the makeup artists Nanette Lepore insist on the most beautiful white arrows, and Altuzarra suggest non-standard gluing them to the center of the century.

Nobody is afraid of classic shooters, like and thank God, but few know that the eyeliner of the lower eyelid looks no less beautiful. With the special structure of the century, such an arrow may be a more successful way to accentuate and lengthen the eye, without making it heavier, but in general it seems to us a simple, but interesting for any person technique. Again, you can make it not black, but pastel, deliberately bright or shiny.

Eyebrows are usually paid little attention, and in vain: now everyone who could, they have grown, and it's time to make them a full-fledged element of makeup. Most of all we like minimalistic makeup with one or two contrasting elements, which can come out not with red lips (tired), but just eyebrows: pastel, bright or even golden. On Badgley Mischka, some models attached strands of false hair to match eyebrows - such an unobtrusive move “sealed” makeup well.

Pink color is considered difficult when working with eye makeup - artificial red may well pass for natural. Jonathan Saunders showed a good example of work with a touch: in the first place, we still like mono make up, and secondly, the borders of feathering go far beyond those in which redness could appear after a sleepless night or crying. And as if for those to whom these arguments are not enough, some models tweaked the tips of the ears with the same color - this instantly added +100 to touchingness.

Everyone loves the creative director of makeup Dior Peter Phillips, we too. His solutions are often simple, but almost unattainably elegant. It would seem that it was difficult for us to guess that a reflective tape could look so subtle over the centuries and catch the eye as good as kayal and a pile of sparkles? We are very warm to any attempts to use non-traditional means in make-up, and Phillips every time shows a class in this: remember at least his false color arrows (how elegant they are again) or recent work at the pre-autumn show in Tokyo. By the way, today it became known that a set of mirror shooters can be bought for 3,500 rubles at TsUM - it seems that this is the perfect gift for everyone.

The flash drowned out the neon brightness of the shadows in this photograph, with which the makeup artists put a single accent on the Peter Som show. We seldom note that makeup is not necessary - it seems obvious to us, and we see that many girls have already stopped painting. If experiments with decorative cosmetics seem outdated to you right now, we parry Peter Som in exactly this way - here all the best from two points of view is at once.

In pursuit of strange materials and unusual solutions, you can forget how beautiful classic makeup can be, but we have not forgotten. Although we like to think up how to diversify simple Smoky, a simple black eyeliner and carefully shaded coal shadows look concise and beautiful. We would print a picture with Tom Ford makeup and hang it on the desktop in order to remind ourselves to indulge from time to time and not complicate everything around.

Another great example of the use of scarlet color on the eyes: there is no hint of natural redness, so dull and bright the shadows. The make-up was shown during the spring-summer fashion week, but it seems to us that bright flashes look good at any time of the year, and now, when nature has forgotten about any colors except gray, the color is particularly relevant. In general, we certainly advise you to master at least a red or fuchsian liner, and then how it goes.
Prada

To talk about eyebrows and what role they can play in makeup. The last images of Prada are generally minimalistic and stand out due to deliberately admitted negligence and irregularity: either the lip contour goes, the eyelashes stick together. It is this kind of struggle with perfectionism that we like - for it we must have not only taste, but also self-irony, without which now — especially now — there is no life.
