Checklist: 10 normal tips that simplify care and makeup

Publisher "Alpina" released a book “Normal about cosmetics”, in which bloggers Masha Vorslav and Adel Miftakhova talk about the basic skills of using cosmetics - both caring and decorative - and soberly systematize information that will help to understand the compositions and methods. We read the book and selected ten detailed tips.

1

Sanskrin can slow down skin aging.

The main factor accelerating aging is ultraviolet radiation: it destroys collagen, which is responsible for the skin's elasticity. The sun affects the skin more strongly than all other variables, including heredity. So if you want to keep the skin look unchanged for as long as possible, you should give up tanning and use Sanskrin all year round.

2

Active ingredients should be used sparingly.

In active care, the concentration of ingredients is important. The higher it is, the more effective the serum will be, but at the same time the probability that the agent will cause irritation increases. Universal recommendation: it is better to use serums with low concentrations of the active substance (up to 10% vitamin C, up to 10% acids, up to 1% retinol) than once a week with high ones.

3

Makeup does not harm the skin

In modern decorative tools add a lot of caring components, many even have serious sun protection, in addition, they protect the skin from urban dust and dirt. You shouldn’t expect full-fledged care functions from decorative cosmetics, but you don’t need to be afraid of it either: the formulas of modern products are designed to at least do no harm.

4

Oily skin needs to be moisturized.

The idea that oily skin does not need moisturizing is still vivid. This is partly due to the fact that many people confuse dry and dehydrated skin - the latter may well be oily. Therefore, to make oily skin feel good, it also needs to be moisturized, which will help avoid irritation and peeling.

5

Acids can be used in summer

Acids do increase the sensitivity of the skin to the sun and can provoke pigmentation - but this is true primarily for products with a high concentration of active substances (more than 10% for AHA-acids). Nevertheless, pigmentation is easy to avoid if you regularly use sunscreen - as do residents of sunny countries, where there is no harsh overcast winter.

6

Gel liner will help you learn to draw arrows

The gel smoothly falls on the skin and dries not immediately, this texture makes it possible to fix the uneven line without haste. You can correct the liner using a cotton swab soaked in moisturizer or a flat synthetic brush with a small amount of concealer. There are enough oils in the cream to correct the arrow and at the same time not to dissolve the tonal under it, therefore it copes with the task better than, for example, micellar water.

7

Dried mascara can not be diluted

Most of the tools dry out within a month or two - this is the optimal time for their use. Predicting what will happen if you add water or eye drops to mascara is impossible - not to mention liquids that are not intended for use by the eyes. It is possible that the "restored" in this way the old mascara will cause inflammation of the mucous membranes, so it is better to use inexpensive, but fresh means.

8

Selfies help consider makeup better than a mirror.

Selfies will help you to understand whether you have painted your eyes and lips evenly, or painted arrows: on a flat image, you can see the error better than on a voluminous face.

9

Do not be afraid of carcinogens in lipstick

Lead and other metals that are considered carcinogenic are indeed in lip products, but in amounts that are not hazardous to health. They end up there simply because they are contained in raw materials from which they cannot be removed. Adopt the argument of the Australian Academy of Sciences: the sun is also a carcinogen, but no one thinks because of this to live in a bunker.

10

Cosmetics can be shared, but before that it needs to be cleaned.

To make cosmetics safe for the new user, you can "update" it as follows. Pencil need to sharpen, and with the powder to remove the top layer of a napkin. Cream textures (lipstick, eye shadow, blush and so on) can be sprayed with a disinfector, for example, Diaseptic-30 or 70% alcohol solution - it evaporates longer and disinfects better.
