How to recover over the weekend: 10 clay-based face masks

White clay kaolin is most often used in the cosmetic industry, but variants are possible, as they say. Especially for us, the editor-in-chief of the Fierce & Cute blog Moore Sobolev collected successful clay masks for shining, cleansing and other important matters.
Biotherm Skin Best Wonder Mud
The recently released Biotherm mask with the beautiful name "Wonder-Mud" contains Moroccan gassoule volcanic clay and is equipped with algae. Wonder Mud is designed to revive the skin of residents and residents of the metropolis: piercingly green substance should be applied with dry fingers to clean skin, and in three minutes it cleans pores of dirt and fat, evens out the complexion and peels off. Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Oil-Control Cleansing Mask
In Clinique, there are several masks with clay, but the main hit is that which belongs to the Anti-Blemish Solutions - Oil-Control Mask line with salicylic acid and algae. The mask, like the series, is interesting in that it is suitable for any type of problem skin - including, for example, dehydrated skin. Oil-Control Mask can be applied directly to the inflammation - it is actively exfoliating, has antibacterial and seborrhea action. Due to the fact that the mask is powerful, it can slightly light the face - but it should also be applied for just five minutes. The bonus is an economical consumption (a rather thin layer of the mask, even if applied on the whole face) and a volume of 100 ml.
Darphin Skin Mat Purifying Aromatic Clay Mask
One of the most delicate clay masks on the market makes the French brand Darphin, known for its love for all sorts of oils. For Purifying Aromatic Clay Mask, kaolin was generously bred with these same oils, in particular, lemon and lavender. The result is an ideal cleansing mask for dry and prone to dry skin - effective, but extremely gentle. It not only narrows and cleans pores, but also evens the complexion and somehow pleasantly refreshes it. And it smells, of course, fantastic, like all Darphin products.
Sephora Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying
Not everyone knows that apart from decorative cosmetics, an infinite number of useful tools and travel bottles, Sephora has a decent skin care line. This clay mask of the St. Petersburg autumn sky color is unofficially positioned as a budget replacement for the GlamGlow mud mask. It is thick and dense, it quickly hardens and properly cleans - the clay’s own properties are supplemented with zinc, so the mask dries the inflammation with a bang. Mud Mask smells nicely with something fresh, but the flavor is quite strong and does not erode instantly, so that those who dislike strong fragrances can be scared off.
Thalgo Absolute Purifying Mask
The “sea” brand of Thalgo uses algae in almost all of its formulas, including the Pureté Marine seboring control series, which includes Absolute Purifying Mask. It feels like a classic clay mask, but at the expense of the notorious algae and other moisturizing ingredients it dries minimally. The brand offers a thin layer of mask and allows you to keep it up to 20 minutes - an unprecedented time for such a product - but 10 is usually enough for a high-quality cleansing.
Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask
Kiehl's vigorous American brand has never specialized in face masks, except that the superhite with Amazonian clay from the Rare Earth line has always been on its bestseller list. But this year, Kiehl's have released two successful new items: a night mask with acids and a tonic with turmeric and cranberries. The latter is made on the basis of kaolin and contains cranberry seeds - it simultaneously works as a soft exfoliant, cleansing mask and a means to quickly improve the complexion. In the process of use, the mask pretty much tightens the face, but after washing off, there is practically no dryness - but the pores are reduced before the eyes, and the skin becomes smoother.
The Body Shop Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Scrub Mask
The best-selling English brand is a wicked but wildly effective scrubbing mask with blue corn and white clay. The exfoliation is mechanical here, and the abrasive particles are rather large, so that, conditionally speaking, the mask will not replace acid peels, but you should not combine it with other cleansing agents - after all, Deep Cleansing Scrub Mask is quite tough. It can be applied only on the T-zone, it is possible (if the skin is combined or oily, and the spirit is strong) on the whole face. It is recommended to use it not more often than once a week: after the mask the pores are narrowed, and the face becomes clean and as if lightened in Photoshop.
Caudalie Instant Detox Mask
Caudalie has two masks with clay in the assortment: the classic kaolin purifying Purifying Mask and the new Instant Detox Mask with bentonite. The main cosmetic winemakers in the past year completely updated their line of masks - now there are four of them, with three transferred from the previous assortment, changing only the packaging and volume, and this detox mask was added. Caudalie propose to combine masks as elements of the designer: either alternate or apply different means on different parts of the face, depending on the needs of the skin. But the detox mask, according to the brand (and bloggers who quickly recorded the Instant Detox Mask as favorites), is needed by everyone: it reduces pores, cleanses the skin, exfoliates it (as part of papaya enzymes), makes the complexion brighter and smoother.
Clarins Eclat Mat Pure and Radiant Mask
This French brand has such a huge range and so many hits that some funds sometimes unfairly remain in the shadows, as if in the category of hidden treasures. For example, a very good mask with pink clay from a small line Eclat Mat. Unlike many of its sisters, Pure and Radiant Mask does not freeze into a classic clay crust and practically does not dry the skin - an excellent option for the off-season and any other moments when you want to cleanse your face as carefully as possible. In five minutes, the mask has time not only to clean the skin, but also to smooth it out a bit - the perfect express care before an important event.
Dr. Jart + Dermaclear Trans-Foam Clay Trio
Advanced Korean brand Dr. Jart +, who introduced the American market to cushions and other wonders of the Asian cosmetics industry, recently launched the Dermaclear line. So far, it includes foam (excellent), micellar water, and this set of three clay masks. The brand positions the product as a foam mask that can be applied even on light makeup, bypassing the stage of its flushing. There are three masks in the set: calming with white clay, seboro-regulating with green and moisturizing with pink. You can alternate them depending on the condition of the skin, or you can apply each to a specific area of the face: on the skin, the difference between the masks is not really felt, but the process itself is quite funny. An additional attraction - when washing off the mask turns into foam! How can you not love Korean cosmetics after that, it is not clear.
