Pleated
Judging by the spring-summer shows, the skirts and dresses with pleating can be called one of the most obvious trends for the next season. We have already mentioned the enthusiasm of London designers for the pleats, but at the fashion weeks in Paris and New York, the pleats are also not ignored.

In one form or another, the plisse never left the podium. But in their past, autumn, fashion shows, the vigorous design duo of Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCullau from Proenza Schouler and evening chic master Albert Elbaz, designer of Lanvin, created two completely different dresses for their brands that became fundamental for the mass market collections. H & M, Zara and Topshop in the summer presented their interpretation of pleated skirts, but skirts turned out to be so popular that few people were lucky enough to see them on store shelves.

Skirts in a vertical fold have long been seen in street blogs: Tommy Ton, Scott Schumann and Ivan Rodich. But thanks to the general preppi-style enthusiasm, the "plesemania" reached its perfect apogee and now, just like the briefcases, socks and sweatshirts, enjoys the special favor of fashion editors.

Chiffon and silk pleated dresses were especially popular in the 70s: it was in this Halston dress that Bianca Jagger was captured at Studio 54. Now Marios Schwab, the Greek designer, designed to revive the former glory of Halston dresses, does not forget about the archives of the fashion house: Sarah Jessica Parker, actress and part-time consultant of the brand, is walking his dresses on the red carpet.
Gala Borzova, stylist: Pleated dresses and skirts have always been my favorites, because they make the image incredibly light and feminine, and this is how my heroine should look this winter. I have a very beautiful black pleated skirt Balenciaga, and I gladly wear it, combining cashmere sweaters and thin turtlenecks for dressing with cashmere, it turns out to be romantic and at the same time unobtrusive. The most beautiful, in the floor, my friend Cyril Gassilina. From the mass market, I would like to point out very beautiful pleated skirts made of wool in Zara. Still, this season the most relevant translucent lace skirts, but I'm sure that this feminine trend will definitely find its fans. |
Yevgeny Tikhonovich, fashion columnist for Elle magazine: What do pleats look like? Well, of course, first of all about the pleated skirts of schoolgirls, however banal it may sound. In fact, pleats are a dressmaker who roams from season to season. Trends on it does not affect. And besides, there are a huge number of types of pleating. This season, fan or accordion pleating is very popular, as in Lanvin dresses, or pleatedplissé- like the dress of Bottega Veneta. This, in my opinion, the most beautiful pleated things of the season. |
