To whom to subscribe: The ironic public about the architecture of Moscow

CONTINUE TO TELLabout decent accounts in social networks through which you can view the whole world.

If you have long wanted to learn more about architecture, but even in video lectures there is not enough time and energy, we know the ideal medium for self-education. Authors Public and instagrama "yes Moscow" - journalists Sasha Zapoeva (co instagrama negovorisomnoi of street molesting) and Vladimir Rajewski - talk about buildings and monuments in Moscow exactly with the intonation, which touches and fan, and the profane (pink hearts and collages with Fassbender play an important role). There are few posts so far, but updates appear several times a week and this is probably the best thing you will read in your feed. So you knew, for example, why sculptures suddenly became bronze at the restored Cathedral of Christ the Savior, although they were originally made of white stone? Now find out.

I began to pay attention to architecture quite recently: Vova and I made programs about the history of houses for Moscow-24, hung out in archives, delved into pieces of paper, etc. The program, unfortunately, was quickly covered up, but interest remained. Starting to look around, I, naturally, immediately stopped whining about the "dumb Moscow".

The idea to create a public appeared when I realized that we know a billion interesting facts about architecture and history, but no one has time to write (and read) Longrid. Plus, I like to talk about near-scientific historical things, using the words "laffki", "fatal bitch" and "stir up". And I love to make collages. Now in public of not superb people - we were not particularly advertised, but, in my opinion, here a sluggish word of mouth is gradually working. We try to write briefly, as capaciously and as easily as possible — I don’t know if this always works, it’s very easy to slip into a boring enumeration of dates and circumstances.

My favorite unpublished bike is about the attitude of the Soviet leaders to the member of the horse of the monument to Yury Dolgoruky. Ostensibly, at first Stalin was angry that Dolgoruky was sitting on a mare - and the member was quickly attached. And then Khrushchev was angry that the member was too big - and he was reduced. We tried to find out from the sculptors whether such a thing could be, but everyone responds differently, so for now we decided not to write about it.

I always loved architecture, but I understood it very poorly. I grew up in the main constructivist reserve of Russia - Yekaterinburg, so the avant-garde was the basis for architectural knowledge. Moscow is a very strange city, perhaps one of the strangest in the world. Here you can knock on any wall - or great literature will climb, or bloody passions, or drunken states, or sexual perversions, but more often - all together.

Sasha came up with a blog to share the Moscow reserve reserve in our head, but it's fun and not a snob. Personally, I love everything about coincidences: for example, like little Kostya Yesenin (adopted by Meyerhold) came to the roof of the Nirnsee house to play football, and then became a great football journalist and statistician. Or, like in the Palace of Pioneers on Chistye Prudy, even before the revolution, Pasternak met Ida Vysotskaya and, having been refused, became upset and became a poet, and fifty years later, Nikita Khrushchev, who had arranged a cheerful life for him, opened another Palace of Pioneers. And I also love it when I write something tedious as above, and Sasha once - and draw a collage with pink hearts.
