Russian brand Not Fragile: Ideal light dresses

The history of the brand Not Fragile began last summer, when actress Yana Guryanova invited her friend Anastasia to make a small collection of clothes. Most of all, she was interested in universal dresses, in which it would be appropriate to go both to work and to a merry party: "There was no doubt that it should be silk. A good silk dress is a lifeline in a situation when you do not know that put on. " The first in the capsule was a model based on a cult thing from teenage times - a dress in which Gwen Stefani sang in the clip "Don't Speak"; and so it was called - GWEN. Although the paths of her friends diverged and Anastasia now has a different brand, both recall that time with nostalgia.
Before creating the brand, Yana took a long time to photograph: “When the captured films filled the closet, I decided that I had to shoot either seriously or in any way - and stopped. But my cunning brain came up with an excuse to get the film camera again.” Images for Not Fragile Yana makes herself, and as a model she chooses girls that are interesting to her: artists, ballerinas and other actresses. “When photographing, I deliberately do not try to show heroines, say, tender or sexy - they represent themselves as they want, I give them complete freedom. Sometimes these are strange pictures, sometimes everyday ones,” says Guryanova. Hence the name, which translates as "not fragile": "Despite the fact that silk dresses are very tender and beautiful, they do not make us fragile and tender or strong and inflexible. Only we decide what we want to be."
Now the brand has three models and two lengths for each. Yana orders silk for basic polka dot things in Italy. The creator also released the series “One silk - one dress”, for which the models were sewn in a single copy from vintage Soviet and Japanese cuts of fabric: “There is a steep continuity: my grandmother wore similar crepe deer dresses. While going through the family album, I thought as a teenager what cool prints these dresses were. "
Yana has big plans for the autumn-winter collection: the creator plans to add a leopard coat made of fluffy alpaca, dresses made of sparkling Lurex silk and wide velvet trousers especially for New Year's parties. A sweater model will appear: "We are in Russia - without it, even now in summer!" - says Guryanova.
