Freezer Cosmetics: Ice Patches and Other Cold Care

Recommendation to keep some cosmetic products in the refrigerator not new: the habit of putting lipstick in there so that it can be kept longer, we still have from moms. Today, in the Asian market, you can find special refrigerators for cosmetics, and publications and bloggers in connection with the onset of summer are beginning to increasingly share tips on using the possibilities of cooling. We are investigating whether it is worth urgently to carry masks and tonics into saving coolness and what it actually gives.

How it started

No one is surprised by the use of heated or chilled products and tools for personal care - but it so happens that it is cold products that are in special demand today. Part of the reason is our impatience: we dream of an instant effect, so that manufacturers and people who are not indifferent to the world of beauty began experimenting with formats — and it was cooling that turned out to be the most promising approach. For example, the author Allure, who admitted to systematic insomnia, recommends eliminating under-eye circles with the help of iced coffee cubes. In another post, Priyanka Chopra's makeup artist shares the secret of her flawless look: in front of the makeup, Paty Dubroff put the silicone sponges with which she applies the foundation in the refrigerator. The skin of the actress beaming, everyone wanted the same.

A few years ago, the 001 Skincare brand advertised its Eyecicle massage gadget: an instrument that maintains a consistently low temperature was designed to care for the skin around the eyes. A similar principle can be found in more compact formats. Estée Lauder released a gel with a metal massage tip, and Chanel offered a luxurious little cream tool in a traditional can.

How it works

It is recommended to cool masks and creams for the area around the eyes, tonics, thermal water, products with vitamin C and all natural cosmetics. In the refrigerator, it is recommended to hold the liner immediately before applying, perfumes are sent there too. One of the first arguments in favor of cold storage is often the desire to extend the life of cosmetics for as long as possible. Indeed, under conditions of variable temperature conditions, many ingredients are destroyed, and the cold is a natural preservative. It sounds logical, but in fact there is practically no benefit from permanent storage of cosmetics in the refrigerator. The product already contains a quantity of preservatives, which will help him in any case to live in a safe form until the end of the specified shelf life. In addition, room temperature, as a rule, does not imply sudden drops.

All this does not mean that you do not need to take care of shocks at all: do not store it in the bathroom, in a warm and high humidity. This is especially true of the means with which you come in contact with hands: in such conditions, the remaining bacteria will be very comfortable. As for natural cosmetics, things are the same with it: you should watch the short periods of its storage carefully, but the refrigerator will not do the weather here - it is much more important to ensure the absence of contact with light and humidity. There is a category of products that absolutely can not be in the cold. This is all the same lipstick and other compositions with wax, tonal foundations and primers based on silicones - they simply risk losing texture properties.

How to do it

Nevertheless, it is not necessary to refuse chilled cosmetics. A small and temporary lowering of the temperature will not harm her - but you will get new sensations from remedies that fight against edema, such as eye cream or a tonic mask. Put a jar or tube in the fridge for twenty minutes, and then enjoy the cool and dense texture. Your cream will not become more effective, but contact with the cold significantly reduces the feeling of puffiness: in this sense, cooled patches are just a royal life hack. Short contact with the cold will not harm the skin, so the use of icy tools and tools is completely safe.

And the last, non-obvious way to make your care more pleasant with the help of the ice method. If you really like your cream or tonic, and its fragrance is annoying to death, feel free to send the jar to the refrigerator before use. A chilled remedy will simply not spread its fragrance as intensely as before.
