Direct speech: Varduhi Nazaryan
Did any images influence you when creating this collection?
Yes, the painting "Salome" by the Armenian artist Vardkes Surenyants. He has an amazing color and especially pastel shades. I was inspired by his paintings, creating clothes for this collection. And then I selected the colors of the fabrics: light green, blue, green, orange.
What fabrics?
Silk, viscose, cotton and leather.
Why did you choose Photoplay for the show?
We chose just a nice site. I looked, and it immediately seemed to me that the place was suitable. Due to the cyclorama, you can create the feeling that we are on the set.
What silhouettes have become key this time?
I wanted to move away a bit from rigidity. This summer, I decided that everything should be quiet and peaceful. Take it easy a little. In some forms, one could see veiled traditional Japanese kimono, and in dresses - referring to Armenian architecture.
Who helped with the music?
Dima Japanese, as always. He always guesses with the music. We meet with him about two or three months before the show and discuss the main idea. I show him the fabric, texture. And then he disappears for a couple of months. And returns the day before the show. But I always send him ready sketches, telling how the concept is built.
Who helped stylize the show?
Olga Dunina helped, but since she was not in Moscow today, Katya Fedorova completed the styling. And the makeup was done by Natasha Vlasova.
What thing in this collection do you like a little more than the rest?
Probably the thing that I worked on the most. This is the last dress. We sewed it about a month. There is a complex combination of chiffon on the back, leather is sewn onto chiffon, then these rudders, which are made from the same fabric.

The models had interesting hair styled. Is it referring to something?
This is an accident. My guest was a girl with very long hair, she wrapped them around her neck, and it seemed to me that it was very beautiful. It does not refer to anything, it just happened.
Many make shows in the form of photo or video presentations. Do you believe that we need shows that run according to the classical scenario, with models on the catwalk and stylists?
It all depends on the clothing itself. Now I concentrate more on things, very little time is left to think through the concept to the end. In fact, the show is the most difficult way to demonstrate things. Clothing must be really strong to impress everyone in the show. And if it turns out weak, then you have to use some kind of scenery.
