Marketer Daria Zolotukhina about favorite outfits
FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. This week our heroine is Daria Zolotukhina, head of the Yandex.Taxi communications department. She told how to combine vintage clothes with history and clothes from the capsule collection & Other Stories, in which transgender models became the heroines.
I rarely lured by expensive clothes - only if the thing is worthy of a place in the museum. It must have some artistic value: a creative manifesto of a designer, interesting geometry or prints redefining modern culture, subtle hand-made embroidery, or fantasy cuts. Among Russian designers, such an artist for me, for example, is Zhenya Kim and her J.Kim brand. I have a lot of married things, I collect them. Mostly in my wardrobe are popular inexpensive and concise brands: & Other Stores, COS, Urban Outfitters. For clothes of these brands I like to fly to Berlin: a short flight and convenient shopping - all your favorite stores are very close to the same street as Neue Schönhauser Strasse.
J.Kim denim suit, Sandqvist backpack, Nike sneakers
I know designer Zhenyu Kim for a long time - from the very beginning of her creative path, and I have something from each collection. This denim suit is probably the most favorite of all wardrobe. I often wear a shirt just with jeans or with any other skirt. I love a backpack for Nordic conciseness. It combines nicely with this costume - natural colors and clear geometry both there and there.
Manoush Dress, Alexander Wang Shoes, Bag & Other Stories
The Manoush collections are always too bright and slightly kitschy - I can love them in the shop window, but for everyday life things are too flashy and overloaded with details. This dress was very different - and noble color and delicate pattern. Shoes Alexander Wang - from the series "pants are turning": I like things, transformers, this is a game.
Zara jacket and skirt, Urban Outfitters T-shirt, Alexander Wang boots
I love ethnic elements in clothes - they are cheerful, that's why I bought this jacket. No special old school story is associated with a T-shirt, I just really love DiCaprio.
Cap Amerika dress, cloak & Other Stories, Bimba y Lola shoes, CUR lurex socks
The cone-shaped prints on the dress and their texture are inspired by the works of Malevich from his peasant cycle. He called this combination of abstraction and visual art supranaturalism. So this is a real supranaturalistic dress with a retro-futuristic cloak. The cloak is from the latest capsule & Other Stories collection, whose characters are transgender models. I drew attention to this in the lookbook of the collection, and I was interested in the history and philosophy behind this thing.
J.Kim Cloak, Boots & Other Stories
Two years ago I was in Seoul and got into the museum of the hanbok, a traditional Korean costume. I was very lucky, because the museum, as it turned out, is open only two days a month. Besides the fact that hanbok is an incredibly beautiful, elegant and technological outfit, through it you can get acquainted with the distinctive aesthetic views of the nation. This is valuable to me, so when I saw this thing in the J.Kim collection, there was no doubt that I needed it for inspiration. The raincoat is also light and comfortable to wear.
Valentino jacket, Prada pants, Bimba y Lola shoes
Both the jacket and the pants are a vintage dowry from a close friend of my husband's godmother. Both the godmother and her friend are now over seventy, but this is the very case when a person simply does not have age - they love, travel and fashion in the resorts of Ibiza and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat better than any modern it girl. For several decades, so much has changed and recurred in the fashion arena that these ladies I have loved have had a fine fashionable intuition a long time ago. She never lets them down, and their images are always elegant. So I feel very graceful in this outfit.
Jacket & Other Stories, Maje Jeans, Ash Boots
I work at Yandex, where the concept of a dress code is missing. If in the corporate world this implies a traditional office style of “business casual”, then I would say that in our company there is a culture of anti-press code. Nevertheless, I have a permanent element of my own office style - this is a voluminous shirt or jacket. And the more intricate it is, the better. I accidentally found Ash shoes in Tsvetnoy, I didn’t know about the existence of this brand before. This is handmade, and the boots are actually very comfortable.
The Kooples coat, Maje jeans, СOS boots, Lanvin hat
Here the most valuable is the hat. She was presented to me by a friend, and we chose a hat together in a small antique shop in San Telmo in Buenos Aires. Judging by the logo on the label glued inside the hat, this thing is from the 60s. Trying to determine its age, I began to search for the history of the Lanvin logo and found samples of such a logo - the capital L and the crown in gold inscriptions. It was used in the 60s, well, the maximum - the beginning of the 70s.
J.Kim dress, Nike Air Huarache sneakers
This dress is in my wardrobe - for all occasions. And in the office, and a cocktail. It is strict and modest due to the laconic silhouette and unexpectedly elegant due to beautiful details, different textures of fabrics, small patterns and twenty-eight buttons. In the office wear with sneakers and a shirt or jacket over the top. Sneakers from the limited edition Nike Air Huarache - one of my last shopping trophies, almost never part with them.
Maje decoration
Long thread from a set of chains. I wear it with fantasy: then it just dangles loosely, then I put it on a few turns around the neck, and sometimes I even tie it like a bracelet on my wrist.
Baska J.Kim
I often take it with me if I plan to have a cocktail or a party in the evening, and in the afternoon I'm just in jeans and a t-shirt. I knit over it, and voila - I immediately look unusual and elegant.
Bottega Veneta Clutch, Urban Outfitters Belt Mesh, Clutch Bag & Bag & Other Stories
Bags are definitely not my fetish. I don’t have expensive bags, except for Bottega Veneta clutch. Although I really like the classic model Proenza Schouler PS11 in versions with unusual prints, I think about it.
