Graphic designer Anya Rusanova about beauty and favorite cosmetics

FOR THE FACE "HEAD" we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of interesting characters to us - and we show all this to you.

About beauty and moderation

For me, as a designer, all the visual components of this world are important. I try to make things around me aesthetically pleasing - as they say, "so that it is beautiful!". And the beauty is elusive: I see it both in graphic and minimalist, and in the complex, formless and controversial. In cosmetics, packaging design is not the last thing for me: I always look for harmony between pleasant and useful.

There was a time when I lowered huge amounts of organic cosmetics: I turned a blind eye to the fact that shampoo without sulphates and parabens does not foam at all, and organic creams do not differ much from “ordinary” ones. Now I have calmed down - it seems to me that I tried to fill an emptiness with shopaholism, from which only my favorite work can truly save. I found it, and now I try to consume it consciously. Sometimes I can give in to the impulse and buy a bright mascara or a perfume with the smell of pure musk, but this is more of a pampering

About care

It is easy to take care of my skin - except that in winter it becomes dry due to heating, but this annoying misunderstanding is solved with humidifiers and butters. I didn’t make friends with oils in their pure form, there’s too much trouble with them: you need to warm it up, it gets absorbed for a long time, it’s too sticky. In the summer I use only light cooling creams, sprays and thermal water, which I have several liters at home. Tap water instantly turns the skin into paper, so I try to contact it with minimal. Most of all, I pumped in the cleansing of the skin - in whatever fun state I came home, I always wash off the makeup and put on the cream, which makes me surprised the next morning.

For me it is very important that the cosmetics do not smell. It always seemed to me that a cocktail of shower gel with ylang-ylang oil, raspberry body cream, floral deodorant, and in addition sweet perfume would only scare away those around you. I am very suspicious of tools that smell of chocolate and in general some kind of food. It only seems that finding products without a pungent smell is simple; As a result, I buy a significant part of cosmetics in pharmacies.

About make-up

I began to paint at about fifteen years old, and first of all my mother taught me to bring my eyes - first with a pencil, and then with a liner. Since then, I sincerely believe that the arrows really suit me - besides, I professionally draw them in a minute. Unfortunately, so far this is my only honed skill. I absolutely do not know how to handle powdery textures, so the entrance to the world of shadows is still closed. I am much more comfortable with cream products: I apply BB cream, highlighter and blush with my fingers - this way I can feel the face better and measure the right amount of money.

About five years ago, I gave in to the impulse and bought Chanel lipstick, which was still not very fashionable then a hint of wine - since then I can’t stop. At first there were almost all the wine shades of MAC, then I started to go crazy over dark purple, and now it is time to cool brown. My wardrobe for the most part consists of things of black, white, gray and silver tones. And the cherry on this monochrome cake is bright lipstick.

About stereotypes and self-expression

I am incredibly annoyed by stereotypical thinking and unwillingness to get out of the world, in which blue shades and pink lipstick are by all means a set of saleswomen from the 90s, and a girl with blond hair is definitely a short-sighted fool. And this is just what concerns appearance. Our society does not keep pace with progress at all: we invented bionic prostheses and photographed Pluto, but we still cannot get rid of the medieval way of thinking.

I think that we were lucky to live in a world where more and more people believe in individualism, according to which a person is an independent value. I think that a person can express himself in all possible ways: to dye his hair blue, wear crazy shoes and draw colorful arrows, so long as he himself is fun and comfortable. For me, experiments with looks and makeup are absolutely necessary. All this is self-expression, and self-expression is creativity, in some way art. It can not be rules and boundaries. The main thing to remember is that you owe nothing to anyone. From this moment comes freedom and flight.

About responsibility and habits

Just a couple of years ago, I formulated an important definition of responsibility. I believe that many things in our life are the result of large and small decisions made. Taking responsibility for your own life, ceasing to blame the parents, the country and the situation for your failures, you release yourself and begin to really live - this approach definitely helps me to find harmony.

In order to wake up properly in the morning, I need music and thermal water — the same thing in the evening to fall asleep. I do not like coffee: green tea and vitamin C invigorate me well, and I drink a lot of water. The main thing is not to overdo it, but the next day there will be a strong swelling - this has happened to me. I have been practicing breathing meditation for a year and a half; At first it was difficult to free my head from thoughts, and I didn’t see any special need for that. But now I can say that it helps me to switch from one important activity to another. And if I meditate before bedtime, in the morning I feel more vigorous and rested.
