Mona Al-Shaalan, men's clothing designer

FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE"we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. During the Paris Fashion Week, we shot the wardrobe of the designer of men's clothing Mona Al-Shaalan. Mona loves to mix sporting things with elegant ones, wears men's sweat pants and a dress like a skirt.

My profession is a menswear designer. It happened. I believe that while women's fashion is fixated on innovative design and fresh silhouettes, men's fashion pays more attention to quality and perfect performance. I am looking for the same in clothes that I buy for myself. I am very attentive to how the product looks inside and outside and how comfortable I feel in it. No, this does not mean that I do not like women's clothes - I'm just not a big fan of tight skirts and heels. In them I feel like in full dress.

Acne shirt, sweaters and adidas sneakers

A naked cowboy print is printed on the back of this shirt. And who does not like naked cowboys? I could not not buy it, although it hung in the men's section.

My previous neighbor was going to get rid of these workouts from the ultra 1990s, and I literally caught them while flying to the trash can.

I wear these sneakers from school. I remember going through New York, listening to Run-D.M.C. and dreamed about them. I had to go to the nearest store and buy.

I run a lot in the morning, and the coolest thing in running is running clothes. I love these leggings - they are wildly comfortable.

Shoes & Other Stories have become a very successful purchase at a price of 150 euros. When the store first opened in Paris, I didn’t know what to expect - another H & M? It turned out that the quality of the brand is much higher, for example, these shoes are insanely comfortable. I can run into them all day, not squealing every half hour, as I usually do on all other heels.

Nike Top, Rachel Roy Vintage Dress

I love to combine sportswear with elegant things. When you work in fashion, people expect you to look perfect from morning to night. But I can not walk in things that I feel uncomfortable, so I mix the elegant with the everyday, so as not to look too dressed up.

I wear a vintage Rachel Roy dress like a skirt.

This bomber jacket is pink. Sufficient argument?

A friend gave me this jersey. He works at Dapr and knows that I’m a big fan of Gucci Mein. Hopefully their brand will be big soon.

Perfect black pants of different cut is never enough. These short - my favorite.

Slaps gave my friend: he knew that I was going on vacation. It was such an unexpected and cute surprise! I adore camouflage and adidas. This case is the perfect combination.

Givenchy AW12 bomber jacket, Nike leggings and sneakers

This is one of my favorite Givenchy collections. I adore the color yellow - they usually say that it is difficult to wear, but it seems special to me and significantly uplifting. The panther print is insanely cool. Every time I wear this bomber, people on the street or in the subway stop and say how incredible it is. And yes, he really is!

These are my favorite sneakers due to the special silver color and the lack of a logo. I have never seen them on anyone, and I hope I will not see them.

Jacket Comme des Garçons AW 1995, Céline Pants, Nike Air Force One

I bought this jacket in a vintage shop in Japan for 100 euros! This is the most incredible purchase in my life, so far I can not believe how I could find such a thing in a tiny boutique in Shibuya. Will definitely go back there if ever I will be in Tokyo. This is the best city for shopping in vintage stores.

I love hip-hop, and here already without a pair of classic Air Force 1 in any way.

Givenchy shorts, leather top & Other stories, Nike jacket

Shorts with an iconic print remind of the beautiful men's collection of Ricardo Tisci and the same cool summer.

Mike I bought at the flea market in Amsterdam. This city has the best flea markets in Europe. I do not understand how I guessed to buy this leather bustier. But I just wear it without thinking how much this thing is really vulgar. In this jacket I run, but sometimes I wear it, as in the picture. It shines a little, so I like to wear a bright print under it.

I love this sweater: the idea of a print over a knit is very cool. I do not remember seeing anything like that.

A printed pocket on a gold chain is a gift from my friend. It is very convenient to go to clubs with him: all you need is a credit card and a telephone, and that is, in general, everything that can fit in it.

I bought a fur bag in a vintage shop in Amsterdam. It can be used as a clutch: run your hands and warm them in the winter.

Han is a Danish brand that makes excellent men's clothing and glasses. These are so simple (someone would say, even boring), but ideal that I consider their most successful investment: this thing will last a lifetime. Céline glasses are a classic. Sad aspect - now every second girl has them.
