Retoucher Elena Bulygina about favorite cosmetics
FOR THE FACE "HEAD" we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of girls of interest to us - and show all this to you.
About the beginning of the passion for cosmetics
I won a little in the genetic lottery, and the starting conditions of my skin are, frankly, good. Approximately up to twenty-three, there was no paradigm of “comprehensive skin care” in the program, there was always some kind of cleanser, some kind of cream and some strange set of decorative cosmetics, I went rather without tone and makeup than them. On the one hand, one can say that ten years ago, in the first courses of the institute, “time was different”, studying at the Kiev Polytechnic University at the faculty of aviation and space systems also didn’t have to be used for sorting cans. Then nothing, perhaps, from my system of leaving did not even loom on the horizon. But, considering the old photos, I can say for sure that I looked very nice, but my eyebrows could be corrected.
At the age of 24, I read Anna Zabolotnaya, the cosmetician Paul Runner, in the Art-Shopping community, and ordered her series for mixed skin (mixed skin, green eyes - this was my entire knowledge of my own face at that time). , I only had “real” makeup at school graduation, and that between 15 facial features and shading shadows and a naked face there are intermediate options or some daily rituals, I also didn’t realize until the end). And the result, literally on the third day, was a real revelation for me - that I can not only look "decent", but also, naturally, shine. As I understand it now, specifically in this case, the effectiveness of the Floors' means was multiplied by the consistency and regularity of use, which are almost equally important. No less than the banks themselves. Since that time, I always have a set of tools for Floors, I do not get tired of advising them to my friends and newcomers. They are inexpensive, sold in large volumes and simple in composition. For example, products with BHA (salicylic acid) do not do it better than anyone else - other manufacturers usually label them as acne products and try to add alcohol, something else and something else, in order to surely burn out and dry the remnants of some kind of skin. barrier - from this, everything dries, there is even more acne, and this is a vicious circle with acne.
About the impact of work and reddit
After I believed in the effect of cans, for a while I bought new ones and new ones in order to bring myself to a better state. I’ll say right away that this is not related to my work, I don’t even see the limits of perfectionism without it. If I was somehow influenced by the world of post-processing and fashion publications, it is with what I know for sure: everyone has pores, everyone has pimples, everyone has veins, everyone has stretch marks too.
My skin felt more and more combined, and the inflammation began to appear more often, I bought Clarisonic - and I was delighted with it, tried all the care products that gave the feeling of "creaking skin", and was sure that it was necessary, in parallel, I bought some Serums and creams, until I accidentally found a section on Reddit / r / skincareaddiction (they recently launched the site) and tried to look for answers to their questions there. The more I read, the more I didn’t understand what planet all these people were from and what it means to wash with oil, it's fat, what it means to moisturize your skin with oil and what it means to simplify your care. And then, having gained enough knowledge (and having gone through dozens of topics about prescription drugs for acne, and reading what they write and advise), I received my second big vital cosmetic revelation - my attempts to reach perfection, I douche that I could go to the doctor.
Pro frustration at some banks
It turned out that my skin is good, but it responds with rashes to everything: hormonal changes, lack of sleep, fried potatoes, strange laundry detergent, including too active care. At first having canceled, and then having tried many of the cans using the patch testing method (on the skin for a couple of weeks), I realized that I was particularly sensitive to some other components of cosmetics, and then I stopped loving the industry completely. I didn’t get to mix my own oils from essential oils myself - there were analogues that suit me, and the theme of DIY cosmetics isn’t close to me, but if none of the ready-made options would fit, I’d become one of these women what to do. I do not use facial scrubs in order not to injure my skin, I do not use strips from pores on my nose (for the same reason), I use products with acids and sanskrin. Usually, I don’t really recommend anything - it’s not very suitable for me, but I can definitely advise you to pay attention to the toothpaste and brush your teeth before washing (yes, I had a reaction to it!).
My main claim to the beauty industry - I personally, it seems, is often considered an idiot there. Too many products are inadequately expensive, if we evaluate them by ingredients, not by marketing. This applies both to the category of cosmeceuticals and "tested by dermatologists" and to organic cosmetics from dragon organs. I have a list of especially distinguished ones, such as the producers of "hit" pads from acne, which contain 47 (forty-seven!) Percent of alcohol, such can only laptops be cleaned. Or creams that contain enough perfumes to pin down a couple of asthmatics. I’m not even talking about pussy-koala-style cosmetics - Australian fermented papaya, alcohol, a beautiful bottle, $ 200 at Net-A-Porter. I am now in my fourth month using a very simple scheme, with gentle cleansing, an exfoliant and a mixture of gentle cream with Toleriane oil - and the old traces of inflammation disappear, new ones do not appear, even where they used to be disturbed. I am sure that after a week in dry rooms and this text I will be surrounded as follows: now I am in Moscow only for the fifth day, but I already feel how parchment is stretched instead of skin, because the rooms are awfully heated, because of this my head is cracking. Lena Spasova, my colleague in Bespoke Pixel, and I are on the "stuffy" team and are trying to open at least one window, but the person from the "blowing" team is sure to be there - and we have to close it. All this happens on a course of lectures, which we are leading, in general, will not be able to escape.
I am very interested in tools and textures or just something new, but really I want to try only Meder cosmetics. True, here I understand that this is now superfluous - for many, what is called disposable income has been considered in body armor, socks, thermal underwear, tactical gloves and targeted transfer of funds to the ATO zone. In such conditions, I simply cannot spend this money on cosmetics, many of my own spending six months ago seem now out of place and even embarrassing (this is how the excess is usually cut off in life). True, my Kiev girlfriends, women are much more well-groomed (who usually go to the spa as a job, and not as a holiday), the same thing - some cosmetic procedures, like my Meder banks, will probably come to us all in peacetime.
About decorative cosmetics and fragrances
I have a long way to go in decorative cosmetics - I myself can draw something of the average degree of difficulty with the arrows and do quite well with makeup in the spirit of “naked face” (not the real “Are you unwell?”, But “How are you okay without cosmetics ! "), but I only master the world of feathering and complex color transitions. I learned everything more or less that I learned from the video of Krygina, and to paint my lips according to the instructions of the blog “It's Lipstick”. I really like unusual textures (like blush-jelly) and I don’t really like big sparkles. In general, I’m ashamed of a full make-up face and usually with a full make-up I dress in a bag simpler, and if I go out in a short dress, I don’t complement it with any noticeable make-up. You can write "well, and a fool!", But I'm pretty nervous and shy and not ready to attract attention.
I love American Sephora in terms of decorative cosmetics, Alterna hair products (I buy them SS-cream for the fifth time), the choice of miniatures and travel versions of tools (I often fly, so all cosmetics are distributed in hand luggage if I lose my luggage ). They also give presents all the time for bonus points and never greedy to fill in samplers.
If I had the opportunity to bring perfume with me, it would be Diptyque Philosykos. The smell of fig tree fits me perfectly, and they really don't look like anything else.
