Broad City - a new series about losers in trouble
On Comedy Central a new TV series Broad City about two young girls from New York was released. They are somewhere between 25-30, both are at the very bottom of the food chain: they earn little, do not have ambitions, have strange relationships or are not interested in them at all; and they can hardly be called attractive even for lovers of everything amateur.
Broad City grew out of the popular web-based comedians Ilana Glazer and Abby Jacobson, in which they play themselves, and over time attracted the attention of Amy Poehler. Last made the producer of the show and brought it to the big screen. Despite the chamber nature of the Comedy Central universe, where one comedian makes fun of another comedian, Broad City has turned out to be quite universal and in the spirit of the times: the worse, the better, the more vulgar, the funnier. In the very first episode, Ilana and Abby undress, not being embarrassed by their imperfect proportions; have sex, while simultaneously chatting with each other via Skype; fuck, get drunk and try to get to the Lil Wayne concert for free. Broad City is like a desperately absurd comedy of positions, where in the course of the series all the problems that concern girls regardless of age, weight and salary, but not solved, are raised. Ideal for those who are bored with Girls and like "Sweet Frances."
