Rose Broadbent, artist and owner of a vintage Toronto boutique
Before you - our permanent heading "Wardrobe". For her, we photograph our favorite things beautifully, distinctively or strangely dressed people and ask to tell stories that are connected with these things. In the new material - Rose Broadbent, artist and co-owner of the vintage boutique Bridge + Bardot in Toronto. |
Platforms Dolce Vita - from New York. I like these huge gaga heels. T-shirt bought on the market in Bangkok for $ 2. She fell in love with me for fabric, reminiscent of space. Actually it was a dress, but then I cut it off - I like redoing things.
I love Mickey Mouse. Stole this cap from her four-year-old niece.
I own a vintage shop called Bridge + Bardot. I originally purchased this blazer for her. I like it so big and brilliant.
Skirt found in a vintage shop - $ 10 for such a beautiful fabric!
I dug out this classic American shirt in a bunch of second-hand clothes. I shortened it and made a cutout on my back, perfect for summer bike rides. I wore this bracelet for years. Simple classic bracelet - fits everything.
Cuchara is a brand of jewelry from Toronto. We sell their items in our store. I like sharp details - crosses and bullets.
Boots remind me of my mom's old bag.
I like to combine huge coarse sweatshirts with feminine dresses. This bow can be worn both for the occasion and for a walk. Berlin is my favorite city in the world, so this thing was bought for a reason.
I stole the hat from my mom's boyfriend. In it were sweets at a house party, and when we finished them, I tried on a bowler hat and fell in love. The vintage dress is made of deep blue velvet. Velvet - my favorite fabric, it is so beautiful that you want to eat it.
Cropped top made from organic cotton. I used to wear it to a party. Vintage boots of the rider - the best shoes on earth!
Jacket - perhaps the best thing I took from our store. It is ideal for music festivals.
This is a special suspension that I made for myself and my boyfriend (he has the same one). She is very dear to me: two pendants from our trips to India and Mexico hang on her. Jeans fit perfectly - bought them in three colors.
A shiny golden baggy sweater is another find in a pile of junk. I cut it so that the back was longer.
Shirt from our store. Perfect floral print and cute gold clips on the collar. Brilliant skirt from the same. I put it on when I want to add something textured to the bow.
I give up, this vintage dress is my favorite thing in the wardrobe. When I spotted the perfect lace in a pile of things and pulled it, I dug out a beautiful dress from the 1940s, custom-made. It sits on me like a glove. And the flowers on the lace are so wonderful - this is what makes the dress unique. I knew I should buy it.
Just the perfect jacket - a classic. I added rivets on the collar to somehow unify it.
Shiny pants add texture to the image. Very funny and really warm.
I like to wear a sweatshirt with a transparent gray blouse. Again, my obsession with combining masculine and feminine textures. Camouflage is one of the coolest prints. This little T-shirt, which most likely belonged to a little boy, is the perfect thing for autumn.
I found this amazing lime green fabric with a snake print and immediately realized that I had to make a skirt out of it.
I like the snake print on this shirt. I decided to dilute it by attaching the rivets to the collar. A huge vintage cardigan is an indispensable thing in my wardrobe. The combination of emerald green and black trim reminds me of a vintage Chanel. Fits everything.
Bag Steve Madden - super cute. Ideal for parties. I also attached riveting to the vintage bag.
Kakia Decoration andCuchara
Kakia brand we sell in our store. Alana Kakia is my friend and designer from Toronto. She creates all these metal laces with her own hands. This is a very delicate job, but the result looks amazing. Cuchara necklace I wear with almost everything - I like neon buttons and sharp riveting.
Both pairs are indispensable in my wardrobe.
