August 11: Moscow clothing brand for young and audacious

IN THE WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW MARK" Wonderzine presents young designers and tells where and how you can buy their things. Our heroes this week are Anton Golubev and Artyom Nanushyan, the creators of the young Moscow brand August 11.

Anton and Artem are old friends. By launching a clothing brand, they were motivated by a strong desire to do something of their own, as well as the lack of things on the market that they wanted to wear. Lack of specialized design education did not become a hindrance. The name August 11 is the launch date of the clothing brand: August 11, 2013. Soon the brand grew into the whole creative association Institute 11 - it includes young and enterprising people who are interested in music, art, photography, cinema, design and support each other.

August 11 shows deliberately simple unisexual things from comfortable to wear fabrics like fleece and denim: shorts, loose pants, boxy jackets, tank tops. In the collections there are both easy-to-manufacture things and labor-intensive ones. For example, caps with a neatly embroidered letter A are customized finished basic items. It is quite another thing - things from red denim, difficult to paint, or a raincoat of taut reflector fabric, taken from the enterprise for the production of workwear. To create t-shirts with prints in the form of cheese, Anton and Artyom specially ordered a print on fabric.

Mark is supported by Gosh Rubchinsky and stylist Lotta Volkova. They helped the guys with shooting a book and creating a video in support of the spring-summer collection. Artyom and Anton say that balance is important in the work, so that they work together on things, making adjustments to the design in turn. Despite the proximity of the collections to the visual aesthetics of Gosha Rubchinsky or Tigran Avetisyan, August 11 say that their product will change and strive for individuality.

Designers can write directly to [email protected]. Most of the things cost up to 10,000 rubles, and T-shirts cost 4,000 rubles each. Although there are exceptions: a reflective and difficult to handle raincoat will cost 43,000 rubles.

Even five years ago it was impossible to imagine that certain things would become fashionable today. Guessing ahead or setting the frame incorrectly. We would like things to be treated with a smaller set of clichés. After all, everyone decides what a fashionable thing and what he wants to wear. For example, if a girl decides that she is comfortable in an exaggerated denim jacket, then this is her thing. One must be free and relate to the choice of others. After all, if you think about it, music is also not always and not seems to everyone to be music: for someone it is just noise or strange sounds. So with fashion.
