13 new autumn wardrobe hits
EVERY SEASON we talk about things that it makes sense to add to your wardrobe. This time, we chose 13 items of clothing, accessories and shoes, with the help of which you can revive your wardrobe for the next year or look for something similar in the bins. Some of the things of the spring and summer season will also come in handy for you: leather coats, low-heeled shoes, mixed earrings, blofers, flares, ski jackets, hoodies, color suits and other things that we wrote about in previous guides.
Maxi skirt
It’s impossible to say how long is in fashion now with 100% certainty. A quick glance at the podiums is enough to make sure that literally everything is in fashion. In one collection it is easy to get along and things to the floor, and super-short, and medium length. However, skirts and maxi dresses in the new season are most noticeable, and they should be kept in mind. If the length confuses you and seems too boring, you can choose a skirt of thick fabric to the floor, but with a cut from the hip. Wear it as advised by Louis Vuitton, T by Alexander Wang, Vera Wang, Joseph and Public School: with coarse boots, hoodies and short down jackets and demi-season jackets, bomber jackets and black leather jackets.

Stand collar
Victorian and Baroque styles this fall on the crest of a wave. Hence the fashion for blouses and dresses with stand-up collar, brocade, velvet and gold. Ornate and overly decorated things, of course, should be worn with something simple and relaxed. For example, a thin blouse with a high collar - with a laconic jacket in combination with a neat midi skirt, bermudas, wide trousers and men's shoes. I must say, this style came to replace blouses with bows, extremely popular in the outgoing season.

Velvet
The new fashion season seems to be in complete discord with the global economy and the ruble exchange rate: designers are turning to luxury and wealth. In addition to the ornate and baroque things on the catwalks, the dominance of velvet, in particular, color: blue, red, mustard, green. The attention should be paid to strict trouser suits made of colored velvet (best of all, if pale pink), as well as the combination of noble material with sparkling Lurex. If dressing in velvet from head to toe seems to you an excessive undertaking, refer to accessories: shoes and bags. Given that velvet appears in collections with enviable stability, you probably already have something suitable.

Corsets and bustier tops
This is a twist: the story with crop tops and bra-tops moves to a new level. Now designers, having enlisted the Baroque style, are exploring corsets and bustier tops. The last time they were popular year since in 2001 after the release of the film "Moulin Rouge!". By the way, one of the ideas on how to wear them is demonstrated by Sarah Michelle Gellar in Cruel Games: hide under a discreet trouser suit and show if necessary. On the podiums of Maison Margiela, Balenciaga, Iris van Herpen, Rosie Assoulin, Stella McCartney, they all wear a corset with trousers in different styles: from pipes to flares. The most adequate is in Marques'Almeida and Y / Project lookbook: with wide trousers and flat shoes.

New tweed
We have already mentioned that designers sing the maturity as one and return to the podium the style previously characteristic of the older generation. Take at least discreet low-heeled shoes, gloves to the elbow, "grandmother's" cardigans and deuces, knitted dresses, fur coats with vintage tinges - the aesthetics that are now successfully sold updated Gucci. A new look at the classic for English fashion tweed is another item on this conservative list. However, its modern understanding can not be called unduly modest: many brands, from Miu Miu to Christian Dior, flash color tweed. We advise you to wear it in a new way with warm colored tights, vinyl things, translucent tops and lacquered shoes.

Knitted vests
Knitted vests - another supposedly old-fashioned detail, burst into the podiums. Its first reanimated a year ago, Hesquiere. Season after season, other brands also came up: Miu Miu and Christian Dior proved that vests can be worn even with sequins. In a more casual version, combine a waistcoat with straight flowing pants, a blouse with a bow, short flares, knee-length skirts, over turtlenecks and shirts. Remember, restraint is new black.

Flared sleeves
In spring, it became clear: the flares come from the 70s - the style of the year. According to the fashion for retro-futurism, not only trousers can be flared, but also sleeves of tops, shirts, dresses, sweaters and even coats. As long as the weather permits, wear dresses with flared sleeves paired with platform sandals or men's shoes. Flared tops go well with trousers, pipes and skirts of different lengths, and sweaters with culottes and white sneakers. In addition, the flared top can be worn under a trapezoid dress. So warmer and more beautiful.

Long demi jacket
Bombers, leather jackets and other off-season jackets delight in the new season with paws and exaggerated volumes. All this is another turn of the hypersize mode. It should be noted that such jackets sometimes resemble a Russian quilted jacket, but due to the length they give +5 to the heat, which is so important in conditions of changeable Russian weather. You can combine elongated bomber jackets and leather jackets with wide and narrow trousers, short and long skirts. The main thing - massive shoes for balance. For styling ideas, refer to the collections of Sacai, Vetements and Alexander Wang.

Giant bags
A tablet or a reader, a uniform for sports, containers with healthy food, two liters of water, a sweater for cool weather — practical girls are used to carrying it all with themselves, armed with suitable bags or backpacks. Hence the popularity of shopper bags and spacious tote bags, which they carry on the runways in their hands like a bag. Céline suggest not to change a giant bag, even if you are wearing a dress with thin straps and low-heeled shoes, thereby breaking the stereotype about evening clutches and a minimum of things. Great news: now you can always grab a shift at a party.

Poncho
An ambiguous thing, suggesting suspicion about excessive love for ethnics and some old-fashionedness. On the other hand, the poncho is cozy - and this is its main advantage. From time to time, designers from time to time try to reanimate and make a piece of fabric with a hole for the head. It seems that this season they succeeded. Look for the canonical image of Phoebe Failo: she shows a monophonic poncho in combination with a bright skirt just below the knees and slip-ons. Another non-banal version of Kenzo has a light long dress and coarse shoes. Fans of a more classic style would like A.W.A.K.E. - with sandals (or boots in men's style) and a long skirt.

Paillettes
Ashish Gupta did everything: the brand detail of his brand - sequin - can now be seen everywhere: on jackets, skirts, sweatshirts, clothes in linen style. Even Topshop echo the British and repeat his com-jeans in shiny. The main feature of the new season is patterns from different sequins, replacing printed prints. Stamps from Marc Jacobs to ASOS show extra-pesty sequin dresses, T-shirts, cardigans and other things. The main thing: although on the catwalk sequins and latex look harmonious, in life it is better to wear them with something emphasized simple - sneakers and basic T-shirts.

Latex and vinyl
Ambiguous materials have always pleased and inspired designers, and the passion of the 60s and new sexuality pushed them to reanimate latex and vinyl. Of these traditionally subcultural and fetishistic materials, today they sew all the same mini-skirts, raincoats, trapezoid dresses, ankle boots, boots and high gloves that Andre Kurezh and Paco Raban had in their time - or they decorate things of wool and cashmere. Wearing vinyl is better in a non-banal way, for example, with conservative tweed and wool items. Among other things, as in the case of velvet and tweed, attention should be paid to things made of colored vinyl and latex.

Cossacks
With the main shoes of the autumn season, everything is clear: these are sandals and platform shoes, low-heeled shoes, shoe boots in the fashion of the 60s and laconic boots. A completely different level - the first to rethink the Cossacks, who in a year (you see) will scatter on the podiums as a tribute to the 2000s. However, some brands have already picked up a wave of nostalgia for the videos of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Cossacks Vetements and MM6 Maison Margiela are offered to wear with sports items: hoodie, shorts and sweatshirts. Think of it as an idea for thought.
