How To Dress Up At The Faces & Laces Street Show

The main Moscow city event of this weekend is the interactive exhibition Faces & Laces, dedicated to street fashion and urban subcultures. Interactive exhibition Faces & Laces will be held for the seventh time. Like last year - in Gorky Park, but already on the territory three times more, on Pushkinskaya Embankment. One thing is constant: here, as before, everything will be connected with the actual street fashion, subcultures, visual communications and alternative modern art. Simply put, this is a kind of exhibition of the achievements of urban culture: concerts, sneakers, graffiti, samizdat, DJs, skaters and stuff like that.
Our colleagues from Furfur promise to show the results of their annual experiments (including burying clothes). From the music program are expected, for example, live Glintshake, DZA, Mujuice and headliner Curtis Blow, as well as sets of resident Solyanka throughout the day. Among the exhibitors are the largest streetwear brands: of course, there will be no Adidas ORIGINALS, REEBOK, FRED PERRY, NIKE SPORTSWEAR, VANS and NEW BALANCE.
To begin with, it is worth understanding that Faces & Laces has grown out of the subcultural environment and culture of sneakers, especially collection ones, which are an integral part of our project. Accordingly, this weekend girls better to leave the shoes at home and come in sneakers. Much of the festival will be associated with sports activities, including skateboards, so for those who plan to go, we can recommend some sneakers like Vans Authentic.
Since this year’s Faces & Laces platform is large, we recommend taking with you some small means of transportation, but not a longboard (it still takes up a lot of space), but a penny or a classic skateboard. Another important point is that we are trying to actively support young Russian streetwear brands, so the participants, I think, will be pleased if they see the guests of the exhibition in their things: for example, CODE RED T-shirts.
A lot of guests are expected at the festival, so it’s better to give up the bag in favor of the backpack, and if there is a strong heat, be sure not to forget the headdress - a cap or a hat. By the way, the latter are in the collection of Stussy. Well, given the unpredictability of our weather, just in case, grab a rain coat or a lightweight park. And fans of Curtis Blow, who will perform at the festival, can dress up in the style of the 1980s and come, for example, in the Olympic Games.
