PR and art consultant Tamara Volkova about favorite outfits

FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE"we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week, our heroine is PR and art consultant Tamara Volkova.

I live simultaneously in two cities: Moscow and London, now more in the UK, and at least once a month I come to my historic homeland, but sometimes it happens the other way around. This is related to work, and I think that this "traveling circus" is very reflected in my style, because keeping clothes in two cities is an extremely inconvenient task. I don’t have a special choice here, the style in Moscow and London is completely different, and constantly carrying things from one city to another is a confusion.

For twelve years I was engaged in public relations, but once I decided to move on and chose a completely different path, so I live not only in two cities, but also in two professional environments. If a PR man in Moscow can come to a meeting in jeans or even shorts and sneakers, then an art adviser from London should have at least a few jackets, dresses and good shoes in her wardrobe.

I love outerwear very much, so even in summer I can often be seen in the summer variation of a raincoat or jacket. My wardrobe is a hodgepodge of basic items bought online, vintage finds from my mother’s or boyfriend’s wardrobe, items made to order in the atelier, and brand items for which you collect all your courage and free money to buy. I have been working since I was fourteen years old and have always tried to pamper myself with some expensive purchases so that the incentive to earn more remains. And although it is now customary to reject the culture of consumption, I am really happy and enjoy the acquisition of new things, and it does not matter how they came to me.

Simplify jacket, jeans & Other Stories, COS jersey, Céline shoes, jewelery - Julia Davidian, Anima Jewelery, vintage

In Moscow, I help develop the brands Julia Davidian and Simplify. I believe that a PR person should like the product that he promotes, and very often I buy things for designers in the wardrobe that I work with. I love jackets and when I saw the Simplify blazer, I immediately bought a second one from another fabric, because they fit perfectly and fit well with both jeans and pants. Julia Davidian's mono-earrings are my jewelry discovery in general, they are of two different colors, and I wear them both together and separately, and each time I answer the question: "What is this?"

Cloak Walk of Shame, culottes and top - COS, Common Projects sneakers, vintage jewelry

In London, only a lazy person didn’t ask about this coat; sometimes my boyfriend and I even bet on how many times they ask me who the designer of this thing is. It would be possible to write a separate story about buying Common Projects sneakers: finding ordinary white leather sneakers, without emblems, stripes, details, logos and other unnecessary décor was not so easy, two friends took part in their search, both professional stylists.

Simplify jacket, Gucci shoes, Irakli pants

This image is almost entirely tribute to the Georgian fashion, except for shoes. The blazer is a double to the already existing white, it was made by two Muscovites of Georgian origin, and the woolen trousers were presented to me by the owner of the French brand Irakli Masha Chumburidze, whose designer Irakli Nasidze, as it is easy to guess, is also Georgian. Masha gave me this gift six years ago, in Moscow's bitter cold, and I wear trousers to this day.

Jacket Atelier Irina Logvinova, Topshop pants, vintage shirt, sneakers Common Projects

The cashmere jacket was sewn by my friend Ira Logvinova, who has her own studio in Moscow and the friendship with which I started after the first stitched skirt. The jacket was born from my feelings about the slurred autumn-winter weather in London and Irina's instincts on things that never go out of fashion. In this shirt, my boyfriend once went to school, she has a typical old school collar, which I fell in love with when we found her in the back of my grandmother's apartment.

Vintage sweater, jeans & Other Stories, mono-ear Julia Davidian, shoes Christian Louboutin

The sweater was found on vintage ruins in Tuscany on a summer trip a couple of years ago. Shoes bought at the "closed sale" Christian Louboutin in Moscow. This brand is surrounded by various clichés, but as a person who sometimes spends 10-12 hours on his heels, I can say that Christian Louboutin has the most comfortable shoe in the world, and taking into account the 80% discount on sale, it doesn’t matter in adorable you are pants or not.

Céline Skirt, Topshop Top, Rag & Bone Slippers, Julia Davidian Earrings

The skirt is one of those acquisitions for which you beat your hands with the words "in Zara, there certainly is no worse." And yet, nowhere did I see a skirt of such a color, from such material, but most importantly - such a cut of the pleated, so that I could feel comfortable with the midi length. Slippers Rag & Bone were bought on the last chance to buy stock for 35 pounds on The Outnet two years ago, sometimes I regret not having bought them in a different color, they are very comfortable and go well with different images.

T-shirt Walk of Shame, IRO skirt, Céline glasses, Rag & Bone slippers

I hunted for this T-shirt for several weeks: first, when the start of sales was opened at FNO in TSUM, I sent a friend there, but without success, then I was bothered by the PR director of the brand with a request to help me in purchasing it, and as a result I bought in the showroom, when "at the request of workers" a month after the total sell out at FNO, the brand decided to release another circulation. For me, as a person working with gloss, a shirt with such an inscription was simply vital.

COS shirt, vintage skirt, Casadei shoes, Cult Gaia bag, Julia Davidian ring, Dior clips

This skirt moved to my wardrobe from my mother's side, I sewed it in the atelier, and despite the fact that she is thirty years old, this thing still continues to please the eye. The bag was bought "in two clicks" as an alternative to summer clutches and purses after a Instagram post by a London blogger, and Dior clips from the 80s were found at the vintage market in Notting Hill.

Dress Atelier Irina Logvinova, Céline sandals

The most practical summer thing in my wardrobe. It does not wrinkle in the suitcase, looks equally good with sneakers, shoes and slippers and is suitable for any occasion - from a date to meeting with clients or going to the opening of the exhibition. I fell in love with sandals, still looking at reports from fashion weeks, but really appreciated all their charm in the store when the seller showed me three different ways of lacing them, which gives this shoe a completely different look.

Vetements dress, Céline shoes, vintage jewelery

On the history of this dress could well be removed short film, or even a mini-series. Deciding to reward myself on the results of one very complex project that lasted six months, I went shopping in Browns London and looked at him on a mannequin for a long time, and then accidentally bought it along with another thing in the online store.

When I tried to re-order, the system gave an error several times, eventually canceled the entire purchase, returned the money, and a few days later I received a parcel with a dress. After spending another week figuring out the situation, I decided to keep it for myself, for which the boutique for five minutes wrote off the required amount doubled from the card, but in the end I never regretted buying the dress. I really like its vintage look in a modern context.

All rings are Anima Jewelery, the top one is made from my boyfriend's vintage cufflinks. He lost the second one and gave me one of the rest, and we made the same little finger seals from the turquoise on it, my friends from Anima Jewelery helped us with this.
