Bookmarks: English site about Russian culture InRussia
Under the heading "Bookmarks" We talk about websites and online services - both useful and completely useless, but funny and amazing - which, in fact, should be added to favorites or added to the RSS-feed.
InRussia
InRussia is a fully English-language website about the state of Russian culture, launched by the efforts of Rambler & Co, the publisher of Shahri Amirkhanova, and the chief editor of the project Furkat Palvanzade. The portal with a concise design is not replete with advertising and beatings of burning infopovodov, his task is just the opposite - to show people who read in English, not quite the Russia that they used to see in the materials of major media. At the moment, there are four sections: "People", "Ideas", "Places" and "Video". The latter should become a separate serious platform - there they plan to publish not only short videos, but also full-length short films that have been marked at festivals or have distinguished themselves in some other way.
According to the creators, we will not see materials about politics in the new project, but we can already read a long interview about the state of modern culture with art historian and philosopher Boris Groys or study the report on the observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the village of Nizhny Arkhyz. The Russia about which the new media platform is telling is largely unknown even to those who live here. So joining to learn more about Russian culture makes sense not only to the target audience of the site.
