Trend: cape

Who and when he came up with wearing sleeveless outerwear is hard to say. It is known that the capes, especially with the hood, were widespread in the Middle Ages. Since then, they periodically return and experience a rebirth. In the 20th century, the capes were at the peak of popularity twice: in the era of Golden Hollywood, when they were made mainly from velvet and satin, and in the 60s thanks to designers like Ossi Clarke and Pierre Cardin, who were bribed by a clean, graphic silhouette of cape.

Judging by the collections of this fall, the cape is again a popular coat. Calvin Klein, Celine, Chloe, Alexander Wang most of all capes were in the collections of designers who are somehow fond of minimalism. And if Alexander Wang still had some references to the past, in the Calvin Klein collection there is not a hint of retro.

In order to create a correct, not overloaded silhouette, the capes are advised to be combined with a narrow bottom - skinny jeans and narrow skirts. When viewing blogs you can see that this rule is usually not neglected. Even Anna Dello Russo, who is always ready for experiments, wears only high boots and stockings with a cap. And, of course, do not forget about the long gloves.

The first autumn trend was picked up by TV presenter and the favorite of British Vogue, Alex Chung, and French actress Klemens Poesy. Now Cape, similar to those that are Chang and Poetry, you can buy in Topshop, and in Zara. But the most beautiful is still at Halston (the legacy of the American brand is not only evening dresses to the floor), Yves Saint Laurent (the model of the cap is almost unchanged from the base of the fashion house and is repeated almost every season) and 3.1 Phillip Lim hardly justifies the price, but thanks to the fabric from which the cape is sewn, it will not be cold in it even if it snows.

I like the Cape very much. It is a pity that in our climate, they can be useful only a few weeks a year. Cape looks very beautiful on fragile girlish shoulders. I remember once met Kate Moss in the Ritz, she hurried to the YSL show, and she was wearing a black cape that covered her short skirt and exhibited insanely beautiful slim legs. She was like a cat, and all this black cover was very much for her. The most favorite cape, of course, is Chloe. I would advise girls to wear them with pants and skirts. But especially dramatic Cape looks with a dress. It can be very mannered to throw a gentleman into his arms from these frail girlish shoulders.
