New faces: Panagiotis, Ilf and Katia
It happens that the future models are not found by scouts and they do not come to the casting of modeling agencies. This situation occurred with the Greek Panayotis Mitsakos: a month and a half ago, photographer Tassos Sofroniou accidentally noticed a young man in Athens. He also made test shots for Panagiotis, thanks to which he got into the VN model agency. Photos spread online, and Panagiotis gained a lot of fans in Greece. Perhaps this was due to the courageous appearance of Mitsakos, which distinguishes him from most modern male models.
Some time later, Mitsakos was invited to play for the cover and editorial of the independent Greek magazine Ozon, after which the youth was talked about in blogs around the world. This was followed by an equally important work - shooting for the book of Dimitris Petrou Fall 2010.
Now Panayotis can easily count on a successful career. Only a few works made a young man who loves dancing, water polo and house music, one of the most talked about new models, and Models.com called it the Model of the Week.
A few years ago, the German Ilf Hetman attended school and was not at all interested in the fashion world until the scout of the Hamburg model agency Place Iannis Nikolaou offered her to become a model. Despite his persuasion, Ilfa refused to attach to the agency while attending school. After her graduation, she decided to try herself as a model in Germany. Later, ignoring the prejudices about the complexity of working as a model, inspired by the German television show Germany's Next Topmodel, Ilf, somewhat similar to Karen Elson, set off to conquer New York.
Despite the fact that a model with a little aggressive appearance appeared in the first months only on trial photos, it instantly attracted the attention of Internet users. She is then invited to fashion weeks in Milan, New York and Paris, where Hetman was spotted at the shows Marc Jacobs, Kenzo, Rick Owens, Helmut Lang and Cacharel.
His latest work is shooting for the new Hermès and Escada catalogs and for Citizen K. magazine. A girl who dreamed of becoming a housewife as a child plans to go to university as soon as she decides about her future profession.
A native of the Netherlands, Katya Borghuis, like Ilfu Hetman, was found by a scout from the local CSI model agency, Chris Stanton. But, unlike Ilfa, Katya began to work as a model while studying at school. The first show of Borghuis, who loves lemonade, Paris, and songs by Guns N 'Roses, was the Valentino Haute Couture show. Then the model was attached to the agencies Major Models in Paris, Models1 in London and Women Management in Milan and New York. The girl was invited to the shows Giorgio Armani, Jeremy Scott, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marc Fast, Cacharel and fifteen more shows. And recently, Katya has starred with Marc Jacobs for the cover of a new issue of Numero.
In the future, Katya hopes to make a successful modeling career, as well as to open her own company. Her dream is to take part in shows of future collections of Armani, Cacharel, Alexander McQueen and Valentino.
