New Faces: May, Julia and Teres
Danish May Craig from childhood had every chance to become a successful model. Her natural beauty was noticed not only by relatives and friends, but also bystanders. While Mai was still in high school, her parents took the girl to one of the model agencies in Copenhagen, where she had been listed as a child model for a long time. With the representative of the Danish agency Scoop Models Bent Lundqvist May met in a shopping center. Then she was only 13 years old, so she refused the offer to attach to the company. For five seasons in a row, JuJu (as agent Julia suggested she shorten her name so that it would be easier to remember) is called the subduer of London. Since 2008, dozens of British brands have been invited to their shows: from Richard Nicoll and Bora Aksu to Paul Smith and Matthew Williamson. In 2009, Julia appears at fashion weeks in New York and Milan, then participates in the Chanel Pre-Fall 2009 show. A week ago JuJu triumphantly opened the show Alexander McQueen, opened and closed Celine SS 2011. Then she took part in the Miu Miu show. At the same time, the girl is shooting for commercial magazines like the French Elle, but even more for the independent AnOther, City and Rodeo. Yulya Ivanyuk didn't make the first list of the best newcomers of the SS 2011 season, but ahead are Style.com and Models.com, who have an extraordinary love for the collections of Phoebe Faylo and Sara Burton.
Although Teres Alexandersson’s modeling career did not start with the opening of the Prada or Miu Miu show, her first season was very successful. The nineteen-year-old Swede participated in dozens of shows of the SS 2011 season in Paris, Milan and New York, including Viktor & Rolf, Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, Chloe and many others. And although there are no notes on Teres on Nymag.com or Style.com, there is no doubt that in the near future she will appear in the lists of the most promising models. For example, in the top, compiled by the site Allaboutmodels.net, Teres is already there.
The unremarkable appearance of Teres allows designers to see in the girl what they want. This explains the sudden popularity of the model: it looks equally harmonious in the evening dress in the floor from Ellie Saab, and in the new theatrical creation of Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. As a model, Teres debuted during the Swedish Fashion Week, taking part in the Cheap Monday show. Later, in New York, she appeared on the Calvin Klein show and this attracted attention.
