Today we will talk about the cult film of 1993 "Under the buzz and in disarray", filmed by the author of "Adolescence" Richard Linklater.
The action of the film, named after the Led Zeppelin song of the same name, which does not sound in the film, unfolds in 1976. The film represents one day in the life of schoolchildren in a small town in Texas - so there are a lot of boobies, beer, drugs, retro cars and slang. Only the word "dude" ("man") is pronounced 185 times in the film. Richard Linklater dedicated the film to his youth - in 1976 he was 16 years old and he grew up in Texas. Therefore, the director restored many details, including the style of the film’s heroes, from memory, and in the role of his contemporaries he shot several future stars: Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Adam Goldberg and Mill Jovovich.
Special attention deserves the fashion of the mid-70s. This is not exactly the period, references to which we see now on the catwalks, but close to that - in the film the echoes of the hippie era of the late 60s are still strong. The costumes of the characters involved Catherine Dover, behind whom, basically, was working on American TV shows of the 90s. However, obviously, with the extras, she skillfully drawn.
