To the dacha or to the rave: Editorial Wonderzine tries on trendy New Year's images

As they say in a joke popular this year, "The end of December is the feeling of an approaching deadline." In order to make the list of accumulated cases a little easier, we suggest thinking of a pleasant one in advance - yes, we are on the New Year's dress. What stylists recommend on this matter and how we have assembled a spectacular image in mass-market stores, we have already told. It's time to test drive. We chose several popular scenarios for the New Year's holiday, which we are going to follow ourselves - from family dinner to rave and from a snowy summer house to a megapolis in Asia. The editor of the "Style" section Dasha Knyazeva selected suitable images for them that can be adopted by everyone - and we honestly told what we thought of them.

Stylist Comment:

There were two decisive factors: the fact that we wanted to pick up Dasha’s velvet outfit, because we knew that she really liked things from this material, and the venue was a summer house with friends. We wanted to choose something as comfortable as possible, cozy, but at the same time festive. Dasha has very beautiful wheat-colored hair, and therefore we opted for a black suit that looks beautiful with them in contrast. Pajama style, velvet, wide trousers are one of the main trends for 2016, which will be relevant in the following. And, it seems to me, Dasha in all this looked as luxurious as possible.

Dasha Tatarkova:

Velvet forever in my heart - so you can be glad that this winter he is again on the front line. I will celebrate the New Year in the country: almost every year my friends and I organize a party to which you can dress up if you wish. For the last couple of years I have been wearing a velvet dress - and I thought that I would choose an outfit in the same vein, perhaps, with the amendment to the Renaissance, which designers have been inspiring lately. It turned out even better than I imagined: a velvet trouser suit is not just luxurious, but also terribly comfortable. If it were not for the solemn fabric, then it would be very stylish pajamas. I like the fashion for wide trousers and a jacket resembling a robe. As for me, this is an excellent option: you feel comfortable and beautiful, and in the New Year this is just what you need.

COMMENT STYLIST:

A voluminous jacket and a combination dress are a classic combination that is hard to go wrong with. At first, we offered Karina to try a suit with a skirt in large sequins, but it turned out that no hints of the 80s were completely close to her. Well, but in the image that seemed to be drawn from the filming of magazines of the 90s, Karina looked like a real embodiment of chic of that time.

KARINA SEMBE:

For some, clothing is a game and an experiment, but for me it is a second skin, because in this sense I am a classic, an introvert and a bore. We didn’t choose this outfit right away, but it’s all about me. The style of the 90s, it seems, finally got everyone, but I was always seriously inspired by them. This is not about raiders krop-tops, strange sneakers or huge acid bombers. Mine is minimalism and basic colors, combination dresses and graphic jackets, silk and wool, thin rings in the ears and hair, collected in a ponytail or bun. In the shooting, it was decided to build on real situations, so I stayed true to myself. A strict silhouette, a high steady heel, massive, but not bright decoration, basic Smokey - so I often look in life and, most likely, I will choose something similar for the New Year's Eve. Convenient, beautiful and do not need to think long.

Stylist Comment:

At first, we prepared very light clothes for Olya, as she was to spend the holiday in Bangkok: a deliberately huge T-shirt-dress, embroidered with sequins, and translucent pants. Thanks to the colorful decor, Olya would have been hard to lose in the crowd. But at the very shooting she liked the dress-combination of a beautiful wine color, and she chose it. We did not mind - along with coarse slippers, we got a bias in “new comfort”. I think Olya is his real incarnation.

Olga Strakhovskaya:

For the first time in my life I go to the New Year far away and will most likely meet him among the raging crowd, alternating trays with street food and karaoke. Stylists offered flip-flops and an oversized dress with sequins for this - probably, I would have dressed like this myself, if we had not met with this dress on the set. One word is enough: velvet. There are no more elegant things and at the same time more comfortable than dresses, trousers or T-shirts made of soft velvet: they are good at a party or a hangover. And if we talk about the 90s, then these are mine: if you add "martins" here, then you can in the clip at least Pulp, at least Take That.

COMMENT STYLIST:

We really wanted to involve in the outfits with a metallic sheen that most effectively look at the club, under certain lighting. In this dress, we just fell in love at first sight: it is elegant, but at the same time simple cut. This can be worn with sneakers, and with simple shoes - but in this case we decided to go all-in and chose ankle boots with a mirror effect. Not the most practical option, but in the end, everyone seems satisfied.

Ksyusha Petrova:

The image is very unusual, but I liked it - especially the hair "emerged from the pool", which is easy to reproduce by myself. Hair is very hard and crunch, but styling will withstand anything. A silver dress is more a work of art than a dress, because it clings to everything and is unlikely to withstand energetic dances, but something like that I could definitely wear to the New Year's party. Ankle boots are also cosmically beautiful, but in real life I would replace them with sneakers - I hope that I will be able to dance on the New Year.

Stylist Comment:

There is a stupid myth that the extremely fashionable things of complex cut, with hypertrophied volumes and distorted forms, are suitable only for very tall girls. In this example, we wanted to show that this is not the case. Jacquemus dresses, coats, and shirts are designed for those who are all right with self-deprecation — for example, Dashi. In order to make it convenient for her to spend a long time on her feet, we chose the Cossacks. I think Dasha looked like a real punk princess of 2016: beautiful and in the spirit of the times.

Dasha Chertanova:

I liked the bow, collected by the stylist, although I was very uncomfortable in it. In fact, it always takes me some time to go through unusual things for me to begin to feel confident. I didn’t have this time on the set, of course, so I was pretty constrained. On the New Year, I still wear something more familiar, because convenience is most important to me. Nevertheless, it was a very interesting experience, since I had the opportunity to try on something cool and new, to look at myself from an unusual side.

COMMENT STYLIST:

I think a translucent dress with a golden sheen is always a good idea. The first one we thought about when he saw him in the store was Casha. It is gentle, subtle, not flashy, but at the same time difficult to miss. It seemed to us that the fur coat made of faux fur would be the most luxurious addition; you can throw it on if you want to go out with your friends for a walk.

Alexandra Savina:

I really liked the dress and fur coat - paradoxically, but they look both modest and luxurious (everything I like). Surely this dress should sit a little differently and is intended for people taller, but the resulting length suited me perfectly. I think I would be happy to celebrate a holiday in these things: they are comfortable, so it’s easy to spend the whole night in them. True, the only fear is the bright coat: there is always a risk to quickly stain it.

Stylist Comment:

It seems that the costumes Nina Donis - the perfect uniform for everything in the world, not only to celebrate the New Year. This is the most comfortable and comfortable clothes for a bright life. And when Katya announced to us all the tags related to her upcoming celebration, we never doubted.

Katya Birger:

I plan to meet 2017 on the most relaxed scenario: at home on the couch in an embrace with dachshunds and a husband, in one hand a sandwich with caviar, in the other - a glass of champagne. Therefore, the outfit asked to choose a comfortable and simple, but beautiful: I do not want to think about how the shoulder strap hits the shoulder, the dress is pressed into the waist or the pants hold down movement. Fuck this shit! In this sense, the Nina Donis tracksuit was almost the perfect option. It is super pleasant and soft to the touch, does not hinder movement at all, and the bow on the sweatshirt near the collar is my argument for anyone who says that the costume is not sufficiently elegant. I would definitely dress like that for a home holiday, but really, I plan to do that.

COMMENT STYLIST:

We wanted to show how the trend for the "new Renaissance" may look relevant at the holiday. Nastya's appearance suited this perfectly. It is clear that in this image there is a share of theatricality, but at the same time, having got accustomed, Nastya admitted that she feels comfortable in it. And this is the most important thing.

Anastasia Likkey:

In fact, it was the most interesting and unusual clothes that I ever wore. I deliberately did not think about what image I would choose, and therefore was ready for anything. It was unusual and even a bit scary. But in the end I really liked being a girl, as if descended from a picture. By the end of the shooting, I was ready to take it all with me and celebrate the New Year in this manner.

Stylist Comment:

It was not easy to pick up an outfit for Rita solely because of the various plans for the New Year: here you can travel by train, make a snowman, and have a luxurious party (which means that warm, inflated pants were canceled right away). Needed clothes not only elegant, but also suitable for hiking conditions. We decided to opt for a warm dress, coarse shoes and a giant down jacket - which, by the way, is in itself a work of art. Of course, if Rita needs to spend a lot of time on the street, then a hat, thermal underwear, a scarf, gloves and everything that comes with it - of course.

Margarita Virova:

In fact, in an ideal world, I myself would be dressed like this - both during the day and on a special occasion. I love vintage silhouettes, such as this dress, and I am always afraid to go over with serious stylization. Here, a giant down jacket was the perfect solution to this problem: an equally beautiful piece can be found in the mass market, my own down jacket from Mango was the best investment of the year. As for practicality, I am not sure that this outfit will withstand extreme conditions, I assume that I will wear overalls. It is possible that you have to jump through the snowdrifts and find yourself in very unexpected places. But if I still find myself in a more predictable environment, I’ll definitely choose something very similar.
