Mauro Gasperi, fashion designer

Under the heading "Fresh blood" we present young professionals who have not yet become familiar in the pages of magazines, but will certainly have time to do it in the near future. Our hero today is Mauro Gasperi, a designer of women's clothing inspired by architecture and art.

Mauro Gasperi was born in the Italian city of Brescia in 1979. Being keen on fashion, he came to the ideas of creating his own line of clothing, having been disaccustomed first at the V. Foppa School of Art, and then at the Polimoda Institute, in Florence, in design, fashion and knitwear. During the training, the institute gave him the opportunity to participate in a competition for young designers, following which Mauro received an internship in the fashion house Paola Frani. After that, he managed to work with brands such as Cristiano Fissore, Doratex and D & G.

In 2007, the young designer began to think about his own brand of clothing, which he began to engage in later. In 2008, Mauro Gasperi opened his first store in his hometown, after which in 2009 he took part in the Fashion Incubator competition and won. In the same year, he came to the New Upcoming Designer project and launched a line of women's clothing for the spring-summer season, which was presented at Milan Fashion Week, and then at the famous Spiral Hall complex in Tokyo. In subsequent years, the designer visited the Fashion Week in Berlin and Moscow.

When creating clothes, Mauro Gasperi is inspired by architecture and graphics. The work of Italian architect Massimiliano Fuxas, who created the Zenith concert hall in France, the airport in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, and much more influenced him. “The main sources of inspiration for me are graphics and architecture, and to them I just add various elements: emotions, travel, vintage markets and street fashion,” Mauro says in one of his interviews.

In his latest spring collection, overalls, jackets and striped hats prevail. Despite the sources of inspiration Mauro, his things always look feminine and practical. Now the designer is thirty-two years old and he continues to be engaged in the creation of new collections, inspired by all the new objects of architecture, but, unfortunately, he does not plan to make men's clothes.
