Life hacking: 5 sure ways to prevent a hangover

The surest way to avoid a hangover is to not drink., but on New Year's Eve this advice does not sound too convincing. How to relieve the flour, when they have already arrived, many know from their own hard experience. Someone helps a strong sleep and a healthy breakfast, someone relies on herbal teas and fresh air, and someone has to drink painkillers (with this we advise you to be careful). But it is always better to warn than to deal with the consequences, because if you decide to drink, here are five proven ways to make sure that then it was not painfully painful. But the main advice is the same: know your measure. No life hacking will help you avoid a hangover if you drink all night without stopping.
Have dinner
The fact that there are calories in beer and wine does not mean that these drinks will go down for dinner. When we drink on an empty stomach, alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream faster. So we advise you not to neglect the variety of New Year's dishes. The main thing is not to eat everything all night long: the best solution is a full late dinner without mayonnaise salads, but with meat or poultry dishes and complex carbohydrates.
Decide on drinks
There is a belief that you can not mix different types of alcohol - it exacerbates the hangover. In fact, this is a dubious fact. But it is precisely known that dark drinks like rum or red wine contain more congeners - substances resulting from fermentation (acetone, acetaldehyde, fusel oils, tannins). Congeners make a hangover harder, so it's better to limit yourself to a portion of vodka, gin or white wine instead of whiskey. By the way, we do not recommend to put on sparkling liquids: the bubbles not only irritate the gastric mucosa, but also increase the absorbability of alcohol in the blood.
Choose quality, not quantity
There is no need to “taste” a new brandy of an unknown producer, promotional wine or anisette brought by acquaintances from vacation. Choose a quality proven alcohol: so you probably will not lose the connection between the amount of alcohol consumed and your condition. Plus, expensive alcohol is also in the fact that it, as a rule, goes through more stages of distillation, because it contains fewer cunning congeners, because of which we feel so bad afterwards.
Drink water
Before, during and after - the water is guaranteed to ease the hangover headache the next morning. The tissues surrounding the brain consist mainly of water, and it is believed that during dehydration, to which alcohol invariably leads, these tissues "shrink" and cause that same feeling of pressure in the head. After each alcoholic drink, drink a glass of pure water: this will help avoid aching pain in the head and in the whole body.
Do not smoke
As part of the study, for eight weeks, 113 students reported daily the amount of alcohol and cigarettes consumed, as well as their symptoms of a hangover. As a result, it turned out that amid drinking in large quantities, smoking seriously aggravated the risk and severity of the hangover. Well, another reason to abandon this bad habit and start the new year in a healthy mode.
