Return of the Prodigal: What did the top models of the 90s in 2011
The career of a professional model lasts very shortly, and therefore the chance that the model that is popular today will be remembered after 15-20 years is not great. But now even those born in the 90s know the first supermodels in the face: Claudia Schiffer, Heidi Klum, Cindy Crawford, Helen Christensen, Eva Herzigova, Linda Evangelist, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon, not to mention the omnipresent Kate Moss. Most of them are already over forty or so, but they still work in fashion: someone poses for Vogue, and someone shoots himself and creates things for his own brand. Look At Me remembered what the top models of the 90s were doing in the 2011th.
Covers
The record for most covers is Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. However, if Keith appears mainly in Vogue, then Naomi has many alternative magazines on his account, such as POP, LURVE or Visionaire. This year, supermodels especially often appeared on the covers not one by one, but three of them or even five of them, as often happened in the 90s.
Filming
The most massive was shooting in the December issue of the British Harper's Bazaar: Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Yasmin Le Bon and other models turned into members of the favorite group Naomi Duran Duran. In the same composition, they appeared for the cover of this issue. In addition, during the shooting video was recorded, which can be viewed here.
Advertising campaigns
Most often, the 90s supermodels are invited for cosmetics advertising campaigns - contracts are signed for several years at once, which is why the fact that Christy Turlington is the face of Maybelline New York, and Kate Moss is the British brand Rimmel London has not changed for many years. And Claudia Schiffer, on the contrary, for the first time this year became the face of Chanel Eyewear, having appeared in a strict monochrome shooting of the brand.
Shows
The list of supermodels that regularly go to shows is small, but Kate Moss is always in it. Over the past year, she walked through the shows of the autumn-winter and spring-summer collections of Louis Vuitton, and each of her appearances was talked about a long time later (probably, it was a cigarette from which Keith went to Louis Vuitton FW 2011).
Design, photography
In 2011, Heidi Klum changed her last name, again surprised everyone with the choice of a Halloween costume and released her perfume called Shine. Kate Moss still created the bags for Longchamp, and Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell went into design: Schiffer already has her own brand, and Campbell developed the denim line for Fiorucci. Model Helena Christensen photographed girlfriend Karolina Kurkova for the Rag & Bone SS 2011 advertising campaign.
