With the advent of smartphones, paper notebooks gradually began to disappear from our lives. Although many people still like to write by hand, take notes or set reminders for themselves in a smartphone is still more convenient. Slice Planner should save us from the agony of choosing between the old and the new: it’s a paper diary that syncs with the smartphone’s calendar.
Slice Planner is available in leather cover and fabric cover in four colors - gray, blue, yellow and orange. There are 228 pages in a notebook - on every second a pie chart is drawn, resembling a clock face: when planning things, you need to shade its parts and sign what you plan for this time. With the help of the Slice Planner application, all this can be transferred to the calendar of the smartphone - for this you need to take a picture of the notebook page. The application also recognizes the text you have written (the authors of the project, however, warn that the quality of recognition depends on your handwriting - besides, the application is unlikely to understand Russian). In case someone adds a meeting or event to your digital calendar, the application has an augmented reality mode — this way you can see if one event overlaps another.
Separate notes can be saved as pictures, if you circle the text in a solid line and scan it using the application. In addition, at the bottom of each second page there are three icons: if you cross out one of them, the written will be sent by e-mail, sent to a cloud service or added to an event in the calendar.
The funds for the launch of their project creators Slice Planner collect through crowdfunding. Now the amount is already twice the amount needed, but the campaign will last another 16 days - so there is still time to participate in it.
