What you need to know about decorative cosmetics Melt
WE HAVE LAUNCHED THE RUBRIC, in which we talk about interesting cosmetics - cheap, expensive, rare, beloved by makeup artists and bloggers, suitable for simple and complex makeup - and accessories for it. This time we describe the brand Melt and its founders.
Melt can be called an indie brand: until recently, only lipsticks, and only matte ones, came out under this label. Such a narrow specialization is explained by the love of the creators for what they call “ideal lipsticks” - they last for a long time, evenly applied, have a bright color and do not give the lips shine. In spirit, the brand is reminiscent of Kat Von D, about which we talked about last time: the founders are just as much a fan of their own cosmetics, like Kat, and they remind her of their type.
Laura Arellano and Dana Bomar both work as makeup artists, tattooed from head to foot and in general always look like gorgeous women. Their makeup is often monotonous in form, but in the shades the girls do not constrain themselves - this is reflected not only in their instagrams, but also on the palette of means (we see this as another confirmation of a serious approach to the matter). Arellano and Bomar periodically lay out lookbooks, which are removed themselves; these photo shoots are as much theatrical as possible, so that their selfies seem more useful and aesthetic to us.
In the Melt line, 13 shades of lipstick, the most interesting - gray, blue, green - end instantly, and you need to literally watch them (if you subscribe to the newsletter, the news about deliveries will come instantly). But they are worth it: Temptalia, though it complains about a strong perfume and dry lips after lipstick, admits that few brands that do not test products on animals make such colors. With shadows, Melt is still sparse - those are several shades that are, it is quite possible to find in other, more accessible brands.
You can buy Melt cosmetics only through the official website, there is international delivery. Even at the current rate, prices are affordable: lipsticks cost $ 19 each, and a palette with four shades of shadows will cost $ 48.
