Beat, scream, run: 10 videos about how to defend against an attack

Olga Lukinskaya

We often talk about domestic violence. and that strangers turn out to be less frequent aggressors than close ones - but still such situations arise. Robbers or rapists more often attack women, simply because they are looking for a victim smaller than their own size: it’s easier to win. Knowing how to protect yourself may never come in handy — or it can save lives. We chose ten clips in Russian with self-defense techniques that will be useful to everyone; they include elements of kickboxing, Krav Magi and Aikido, so that practicing techniques can also add variety to training. Nevertheless, there are two main tips: shouting as loud as possible and, if possible, running away.

Heads and Keys

A short, but useful video about how important it is not to turn your back on the attacker in order not to lose control of the situation completely. Sharply stepping on the upper part of the foot with a heel or hitting the face with a bag, transferring the entire weight of the body, are also valuable options for self-defense. The most important recommendation is not to fall into a stupor, but actively attack in response.

Attack in the elevator

Since there is no place to turn around in an enclosed space like an elevator, it is best to use knees and elbows for strikes. It is very important to direct the weight of the whole body to the impact, that is, when you strike with your knee, to move the pelvis forward, and when you strike with your elbow, slightly extend the shoulder. It sounds difficult, but such movements are perfectly brought to automatism in group classes like "body-commander" in any sports club.

Pain points

Practice strikes on pain points: eyes, throat and groin area. The main thing here is not strength, but speed and surprise. For example, a blow to the neck from the front is put between the thumb and index finger, practice on your own opposite hand and see how it hurts.

Self-defense techniques and common sense

In this video, they tell not only how to fight, but also how to avoid dangerous situations - without victimization and instructions not to walk in a short skirt. It is recommended to lag behind people at pedestrian crossings (in order not to be pushed into the car), to hold the keys in your hand when entering the dark staircase, and not to enter the elevator with strangers out of courtesy. If you are pressed against the wall - slide down and beat the ribs of your palms into the solar plexus.

Krav Maga for children

This video is for children and their parents - but adults will find a lot of value in it. The trainer teaches to grab the aggressor by the hair and slip out of the backpack if grabbed for it; Do not bring to a real attack, push away and run off and, most importantly, shout, despite fear or palpitations that are quickened from the load.

Attack with a knife

The movie with sinister music tells you how to defend yourself if you are threatened with a knife or grabbed with both hands: block the arm, hit the eyes and neck, and then run away. Shout, beat, run - the attacker counts on fear and stupor, and not on active actions.

To blame the aggressor

We give the prize for acting skills to a maniac in a tracksuit with a baseball bat, who meditates (literally - in the lotus position), in preparation for committing a crime. The authors propose a maniac to talk: not to beg for mercy, but to speak with him in a calm voice or even to sing or recite poetry loudly; at the same time a surprise factor may work. Call for help, bite and beat in sensitive places.

If you pull a pigtail

Aikido techniques "for girls that help to get rid of the captures of boys" - but in fact they can be useful for children and adults of either sex. They say what to do with rough grips for the shoulder or both shoulders, for the arm and even for the pigtail - finally!

Blocking blows

The lesson in the ring, dedicated to how to block strikes, is useful, most likely, to those who already have a decent physical training and good reaction. One of the following lessons from this channel is about how to block an opponent if you are knocked down.

Again the keys and heels

Whoever did not carry keys in his hand as a weapon, getting ready to enter the staircase, but how exactly we strike them is bad for us. It is advised to beat in the back of the palm and in the eyes, not exceeding the limits of self-defense. Heel or heel can strike the foot or lower leg - it hurts and causes the aggressor to loosen the grip.

Bonus: meditative video about strikes between the legs

Just fifteen seconds - just look.
