What happens to the Ukrainian fashion: KamenskayaKononova SS 2014

FOLLOWING THE FASHION WEEKS IN NEW YORK, LONDON, MILAN AND PARIS start local shows. The first - at the Ukrainian Fashion Week, which was held from 9 to 13 October. Wonderzine fashion editor Liza Kologreeva went to events to tell about the most remarkable collections of Ukrainian designers.

Natalia Kamenskaya and Olesya Kononova have been working together for five years. During this time, the duo managed to work with the R.E.D. showroom, create a line of dresses for the Odessa Film Festival and make successful sales through the online project Notjustalabel.com. For the first time we see the spring-summer collection in the studio of a duet. Kamenskaya and Kononova successfully combine invoices: in one dress, fleecy silk and matte leather are combined. In general, work with materials is a fad of girls. Last season, they created a fur coat of rigidly structured fur, soaking it in a mountain river, and this time Natalia and Olesya attach pieces of Swarovski marble to clutches, and glasses and jewelry are cut out of ebonite. We see that they are experimenting with prints for the first time: photos of concrete and pebbles from the street where their show room is located are printed on dresses with cutting sleeves and puffy skirts.

Judging by the styling of this show, the girls support the theme of the 1990s that has reached its peak: models with hair tied back wear narrow glasses and even transparent leggings. Surprisingly, the latter looked appropriate in each of the bows, except, perhaps, one thing: we don’t recommend putting them under the unbuttoned coat without a skirt and shorts. The basis of this collection is dresses, not only printed ones, but also velvet (from the heavy blue barths, the girls whipped off their shirts, every second designer considered it to be an honor, and knitted ones. Without which one could do without so top with balls of leather and rhinestones, which are no longer possible to look at, and voluminous coats, reminiscent of the very Céline with sleeves tied in front. However, they look good with voluminous shortened trousers: Kamenskaya and Kononova were decorated with stripes like skirts and wide cuffs. Girls, like their colleague Svetlana Bevza, include slippers in the collection. They have not with a membrane, but with a closed toe, which looks even more successful.
