Warm welcome: How to eat in the winter

Cold all come and come, and from everything, including food, I want warmth and moral support. The eyes simply refuse to look at cold salads and bottles of yogurt. Not. I want bread with butter, pasta in a creamy sauce, roasted meat, chocolates and cappuccino with croissant. A favorite tight jeans, meanwhile, has not been canceled. And the New Year with evening dresses is already on the nose.

Like many girls, I found myself in this interesting position every autumn. And it turned out that there is a decent way out of it - even if you are very busy and do not cook at home at all. In your access there are many options for a comfortable and warming, but absolutely not necessarily fat and heavy meal, with which you will feel good in the cold. It is necessary to pay attention to it just in time.

First, I want to say about soups. Even just vegetable soup, but hot and with a grain bun, already wonderfully warms and pulls for a light lunch - despite the fact that in fact you have not eaten anything. And if he, for example, also with mushrooms, noodles, beans or lentils, the feeling of hunger evaporates for a long time. They are now almost everywhere you can order for lunch or buy to go. And if you still have a little bit of time, think about cooking mashed soups at home. Just lightly fry some onion and garlic. Add your favorite vegetables (all good: for example, carrots, pumpkin, broccoli, cauliflower, green peas and celery), cover with water and boil. When the vegetables are soft, chop them with a blender. This soup is very nice to have dinner, especially with a few drops of olive oil and pine nuts. And if you want it is convenient to take with you to work.

Another important point is meat. Or a bird. If you are not a convinced vegetarian, then it is worth remembering about them in the winter. For some reason, with them to maintain body temperature and positive becomes much easier. If you eat them separately from all kinds of carbohydrates (bread, breading, cereals, potatoes and pasta), the feeling of heaviness is completely gone. And for each day, in my opinion, especially correct and especially undervalued food is boiled meat along with broth. If it is good to cook it, which is not at all difficult, I can’t even believe how tasty it is. It is best to look at the chicken, turkey legs and ribs (beef or lamb). Simply fold the meat and unpeeled vegetables (onion, two or three cloves of garlic, carrot, if desired, celery root or petioles) into a large saucepan, throw a bay leaf, a few peas and salt. Fill with water and simmer for 30 minutes or an hour, until the meat is soft.

Strange as it may seem, in winter, spicy and spicy food, which came just the opposite from hot countries (say, India and Thailand), is very relevant. All types of pepper, ginger, mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves and other spices that are actively used in them have tremendous heating capacity, even if the dish itself is very light. If you are not used to being spicy, just try it. Now in many places you can order curry, meat or vegetable wok or tom yam for lunch or dinner. You yourself will not notice how you like it, and the severity will cease to embarrass. And for a home, it’s just to grab a bag of chili powder, black peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, cardamom boxes, star anise and carnations in the store. And throwing them wherever they want: in tea, in rice, in stew - they will only decorate everything.

I can not keep silent about another wonderful thing - granola. It is her, in my opinion, in the winter you need breakfast. In composition, it is similar to muesli, but at the same time incredibly tasty. It is likely that the first time you will want to eat it for lunch and dinner. Good granola is sold now in coffee houses (in the form of tiles or crumbly in cups). But you will get homemade three times more tasty. Just mix a glass of oatmeal, a handful of pumpkin seeds and walnuts, two tablespoons of sugar and honey, a teaspoon of cinnamon and ginger, a pinch of salt, a spoonful of vegetable oil and four tablespoons of applesauce. Sprinkle on a baking sheet and bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Get a golden caramel crisp beauty. Pour a handful of raisins and dried cherries and mix. You can eat it with milk, juice or yogurt, but even just with a cup of tea, it is indescribably beautiful.

Well, never forget about mulled wine. This is a trouble-free way out of the coldest and most depressive situation. A bottle of red wine, a couple of oranges, sweet spices, honey to taste, heat, pour a glass of brandy - and everything, you have it in a cup. And in case of non-alcoholic need, a complete analogue is ginger tea. Then, instead of wine, take a piece of finger-sized ginger root. Without cleaning, cut it into thin slices, cover with water, bring to a boil, cook for five minutes and let it brew for 10 minutes. And in general, do not get carried away in order to limit yourself. At least once a week, but be sure to allow yourself what you dream about at night, be it a cappuccino with a bun, chocolate or bacon with garlic. We must not forget about the soul. Especially in the winter.
