Kristina Abdeeva, photographer and designer
The heroines of the first Wonderzine publication do different things - they edit magazines and websites, open stores, invent clothes, arrange meals, sing in a group, do art and manage international companies. One thing unites them - everything that they do causes the processes around to accelerate. They are energetic, professional, self-sufficient and attract the same to them. No wonder almost everyone to the question "What girls inspire you?" answer that they do not know how to equal people who they personally do not know. But on their own equal other girls who will become our heroines very soon.
What are you doing now?
I started with a photo and at the same time I started designing clothes. I recently went to practice in Paris and realized that I needed to assist and shoot in this city, because it is very close to me in spirit. Abroad, I hear a response from my work - it turns out that it is valued there much more than in Russia. Therefore, I plan to continue working abroad.
I assisted Paolo Roversi: in the shooting for the Japanese Vogue, the model was my muse Saskia de Brau. The hair was made by the famous stylist Eugene Suleiman. After the shooting, I realized that the higher the level of the professional working with you, the less he pulls his nose. In this kind of work, everyone feels like one big family and works for a great result.
How has the industry in which you work?
More opportunities have appeared, interest in Russia has appeared abroad. My friend and stylist Dima Shabalin even made a photo of Russian designers for Metal magazine.
What girls inspire you?
I consider Svetlana Tanakina, the fashion editor of Russian Vogue, to be my muse, whom I met five years ago. Natalia Turovnikova I really like. She tries to help young designers, for which she thanks. I like Asiya Bareeva from Russian designers, I believe in her. Recently, she showed the first collection and reached the final of "Russian Silhouette". I also believe in my friend, photographer Masha Demyanova.
What do you think is happening with cultural life in Moscow?
Everything has become more accessible. Closed clubs and tight dress code, more and more open parties disappear. Asti Martini brought M.I.A. last year, and everyone could see it, constantly similar events take place in Gorky Park. This is a positive trend.
