End of summer: Light outerwear from Olympiika to trench
Text: Artyom Pliss
In unpredictable weather conditionsIt is difficult to limit one type of outerwear. However, the harsh climate in our latitudes is both a plus and a minus, because it makes it possible to look, if desired, diverse. It is worth remembering that high-quality outerwear will last far from one year, so it makes sense to pay attention to the brand more expensive mass-market: spending here, you are unlikely to lose. We made a selection of twenty-five options for outerwear at the end of summer and beginning of autumn.
Olimpik
Ordinary Olympiika, hit the clothing markets of the 90s, again storming the stores. Today this thing is especially appreciated by those who prioritizes practicality, and, of course, adherents of the near-sports style. A nice option can be found both in stores of purely sports brands or mass-market, and in luxury corners. Interestingly, even Alessandro Michele, who prefers redundancy and theatricality, has included an olympic shirt in the pre-autumn Gucci collection.
You can wear it with anything from an evening dress to ordinary trousers-pipes, and add - waist bag. To reduce the degree of sportiness, put on a voluminous jacket or trench coat on top - you will get a non-banal multi-layered image.
Bomber
About bomber it is difficult to say something new. This jacket with elastic bands on the sleeves and on the belt, invented for American pilots, has long been loved by everyone. Designers every season offer new options: now you can easily find on any wallet and concise models, like Yeezy, and richly decorated, like Gucci and Alexander McQueen. Again, if you don’t want to look like everyone else, try combining a bomber with less obvious things, such as a combination, or gentle girl dresses in the style of the heroes of “Hanging Rock Picnic”; Coarse boots or laconic sneakers can be worn on the feet.
Jean jacket
Denim jacket never went out of fashion. But this season, on the wave of love for "double denim" it will be absolutely everywhere. The variety of jeans, which designers released in the autumn-winter collection, can not but surprise: there are models from very simple to luxurious with embroidery and appliqué. For example, Maria Grazia Kyuri has in many ways built a fall collection for Christian Dior around blue shades, and, of course, it could not do without classic blue jeans, overalls and jackets.
We advise you to look at the latter in the spirit of Helmut Lang's work, which is similar to a uniform. It is best to wear such jackets with other simple things: plain shirts, straight jeans or leather pants.
Trench coat
Trench coat is indispensable in the off-season and in early autumn, when the rains and temperatures are getting closer to zero, but it’s still early to wrap up in a coat. As a rule, most of these raincoats are made of waterproof gabardine in the usual colors: beige, mustard, black, dark blue and dark green. Those who are tired of the eternal classics, suitable models of silk and plastic - yes, now you can find such.
Cardigan
The cardigan is not quite outerwear, but it can easily go for it in the off-season and on cool summer evenings. Unlike a sweater, he will not spoil his hairstyle, and there are more than enough options for socks: buttoning all the buttons, partially unbuttoning or not fastening at all. There is something to choose from: the brands offer radically different models - simple and strict, elongated in the style of the 70s or baggy a la "from grandma's chest", like in Prada.
