New hobby of Finnish girls - toy horses

Many girls dream to engage in equestrian sports, but most of the purchase and maintenance of a horse can not afford. Residents of Finland have found a way to solve this problem: they ride toy lolly horses, and the competition between "horsemen", deftly jumping over obstacles, attracts hundreds of spectators.

The documentary film by Selma Vilhunen, which became interested in the community of toy horse lovers in 2010, is dedicated to the unusual passion of teenagers. The heroine of the film told Dazed that the community helps them to find friends and feel more confident. The riders not only participate in competitions, but also learn how to make horses with their own hands, and treat their favorite horses as real pets. According to the director, the most interesting thing about this phenomenon is that sportswomen treat themselves with humor, but some aspects are taken very seriously. Now in Finland live about 10 thousand horse riders, most of them - teenagers from 10 to 20 years.
