London Fashion Week: Giles Show and Backstage
The shows of the fourth day of the Fashion Week are the most important: after that, the general tension gradually goes down, and the last, the men's day, is completely missed by most of the men, hurrying to Gucci for Milan. On the evening show Giles traditionally gathers all the creative elite. This time everything happens in the building of the Royal Court. Even invitations look like a subpoena with two options - attend or not attend. The place was not chosen by chance - in the center of the collection there is a print with Paul Delaroche's painting "The Execution of Lady Jane Gray". The print is very beautiful, like the entire collection - black and white shaggy fur, black strict dresses and no less strict black and white bows on the heads of the models. One can already see from them that style is again the work of Katie Grand: Katie and Giles are old friends.

On the backstage, M.A.C makeup artists paint models with bright red lips at the back of the neck. “We wanted to create an image of a Victorian governess,” says Lucia Pieroni, the main makeup artist of the show. “She is very strict, tense, restrained, wears her hair in a bun. All that this woman uses is water: therefore the faces are smooth, shiny, very clean. But at the same time we make her amazing red lips. This is an image that has nothing to do with any kind of time period - we came up with a mixed timeless character. The collection has a lot of black, closed neck, structural forms, so that everything will turn into a deliberately rectilinear history. uw ".

After the show, all the models and guests go to the Liberty department store for the main secular party LFW: a presentation of the already released new issue Love and the opening of the Corner Alexander Wang in Liberty. This is reminiscent of the corporate fashion industry in London - Beth Ditto sings on the stage, Alexander Wang and Henry Holland are chatting at the counter, and in the end I step on the leg of pregnant Victoria Beckham.
