Most often, scouts find models in shopping centers. The same happened to seventeen-year-old Australian Melissa Johansen, who, for convenience, shortened her name to the initials of MJ. She won first place in the Finesse competition and in 2010 she attached herself to Vivien in Sydney and Wilhelmina in New York.
The first composition appeared on the model a year ago, when she went to the New York castings. That season was a good one for MJ, who did about ten shows. Among them was the Rodarte show - and since that season, the girl has not missed a single show of the brand. Returning from America to Australia, the model worked at the local Fashion Week and was shot for the July issue of Vogue. To date, this is the only serious shooting of Melissa, but her photos and interviews appear monthly in articles about new faces.
In the fall, Johansson returned to New York to attend spring-summer casting shows. This season the number of shows made by the girl increased to 15, she also managed to work in Milan and Paris. The shows, which ended a week ago, were no less successful for Melissa than in previous seasons (not counting the sensational fall on the Dennis Basso show). Three days ago, MJ celebrated her seventeenth birthday and finished work in London today. The girl dreams of filming for the Burberry campaign and meeting with Kate Moss.
