What to wear this summer: Stylist tips

We asked stylists about what trends are relevant. in the coming summer and how to adapt them to the Russian climate, what seasonal things to pay attention to and what to be guided by when drawing up fashionable images. In general, if you are ready not to refuse anything to yourself - the advice of our experts will help you understand which things are rational to invest in now and which of the already purchased ones to adapt.

One of my favorite spring-summer trends - “New Bohemia” - this season is mainly about individuality (this can be seen in the collections of Gucci, Etro, Chloé, Alberta Ferretti). I am literally obsessed with a variety of dresses - starting with a combination of drawings from different cultures, ending with kaleidoscopic prints, as well as fabrics that seem to have disappeared from the pages of books on art history. Now more than ever, I am inspired in my images by the combination of unusual graphics with delicate lace and layering in decorations.

Another trend I’m obsessed with is Californication, inspired by the Saint Laurent Surf Sound collection. It is the perfect combination of the surfer style of Southern California and grunge. Nothing makes me happier than an absolutely light look created with a combination of denim and lace, flower dresses and a leather jacket, a cage and a palm print bomber. In principle, both trends can work for Moscow weather. But care is needed here, because there are many points concerning the connection in the image of some things, and there is a difficulty in not crossing the line between ease and the impression that you have overdone it. If you do not take into account at least one element, the whole image risks becoming like a fancy dress.

Now you do not need to spend a lot of money to look cool, thanks to brands such as Zara, H & M, Forever 21 - they have alternatives to luxury clothing and the most fashionable things. But if we are talking about an expensive thing that is relevant now and always, then this is a bomber jacket with embroidery. These can be seen at Gucci, Saint Laurent or Alexander McQueen.

Sales of high-heeled shoes have plummeted, and it seems that sneakers are real it-shoes today: literally everyone is wearing them. Nike, New Balance and adidas have a huge selection, and with pleasant prices, which allows you to buy several pairs at a time. Brands like Dior and Fendi have decorated options that can easily replace the pin in the evening look. Sneakers are the easiest and fastest way to turn any image into a “cool girl”, just leave your training shoes for the gym.

As they say, it's time to undress! Trends associated with things that open the body, my beloved, and the current summer season is incredibly happy with fashion on bare shoulders, back, hips and belly. I will make a reservation that we are talking about stripping wisely: if the neckline is on the entire back, then on a modest shirt. Or a transparent dress under a heavy men's leather jacket. If the dress, then on thin straps and silk, emphasizing bends. I’m already driving in transparent tops, worrying the public.

When there is a summer heat in the city, the main thing to remember is about materials and choose what repels moisture and lets air through: these are natural materials like cotton, silk and flax, as well as technological fabrics like those used by Uniqlo Airism. It is very fortunate that the main direction of the season is romance and the 2000s, ruffles and bare shoulders, be it a shirt or a dress. I want myself a dress with ruffles and more transparent. Or this image with a top in ruffles and flares - I dressed like that at school and want it again!

Also in fashion will be everything that is associated with an unusual cut, whether it is a neckline or a twisted belt. Look at the Off White collection - a case in point. Pay attention to the bra-tops and low-fitting trousers - all bare belly, like Britney Spears in the 2000s. Flared sleeves and pants are still incredibly cool. Unambiguous hit of summer - this dress-shirts. If I had a wedding or graduation tomorrow, I would choose this. Do not forget about comfortable shoes: low heels and muly slippers - for example, I acquired both last fall. Shorts of comfortable length, which can be worn with a bra-top for walking, even with a blouse and mules for work, will never interfere.

It seems to me that the most fashionable things are now being done by the Ukrainian brand Ann October: blouses and dresses, baring shoulders, decorated with lush flounces. Rags with sneakers and short leather jacket are also an example from Off-White (this is my favorite bow since last autumn), and this spring choose a ragged denim shirt; You can still cut a hole in your jeans, again as in the Off-White collection - I have already cut one pair in the hips. Another illustrative example for me is a bra-top and light culottes and an almost pajama jacket with leather slippers. Or even a way to rehabilitate a wide-brimmed hat - it looks really cool.

It is worth remembering about hairstyles: smooth tails, brushes back and slovenly disheveled locks are applicable not only for everyday life. In Cannes, celebrities are wearing them now. In general, modern fashion is as cool as ever; you just need to look around and learn to adapt a new one.

From the new tendencies, the closest thing to me is the romantic style - light, almost weightless dresses, tops with open shoulders in combination with jeans, beautiful combination dresses that can be interpreted differently, for example with jeans and rough grunge shoes. Or on top of a simple T-shirt or T-shirt to put on a dress or a top in a linen style - this is an unforced reception. The thing you can't do without in spring is jeans. I recommend wearing coarse denim jackets, dresses and shirts from denim with stripes, with appliqués and embroidery. Denim jacket and save in deceptive spring weather.

I found my jeans in the wardrobe of my spouse, she is just what you need - in the oversize style. And I already made the main purchases of the season myself: these are ballet flats with Miu Miu ribbons (I can’t save on high-quality footwear) and Isabel Marant “metal” short skirt. Of the designers, what I like most now is how Haider Ackermann, Junya Watanabe, Vilshenko, Vetements, Topshop Unique think. And, of course, our rescuers from the mass market - Zara, H & M Studio, & Other Stories and Topshop.

Personally, I am afraid of the revival of the 90s. That's just not in the rave-narcotic interpretation, which many stylists turn to (neon, nets, metallized fabrics, etc.), but in a washed and combed way: minimalism, white or other pure color, pleating and futurism. I like very much that they remembered about the 70s. In fact, all these trends are applicable for Russia and the local weather - besides, the summer season here allows you to be fully fashionable. The question of practicality and survival is not as acute as in winter, and if some of the next peat bog burns out, then you can only dress according to your own preferences - including hot or even chic. I am an adherent of the classical approach: accessories must be expensive. The t-shirt is now easy to pick up anywhere — after all, the mass-market fabrics are very tight, and the knitwear from H & M is sometimes no worse than what Dries Van Noten has. But with shoes, bags and glasses almost always trouble, pain and horror. The main purchase of this summer I would call glasses, for example Retrosuperfuture - this is an American classic in such a precise performance that you never look too fashionable. In this case, you can’t call them ordinary, for my taste, this is such an analogue of the Hermès bag. In women's fashion, of course, this is a shirt dress. In general, I would recommend looking at the trends that have marked The Row, Lemaire, Helmut Lang and Hermès for the summer season.

In the fast urban pace of life, it’s not so easy to get out of the house not overloaded, and in the evening you’re not too casual. My favorite solution to the situation is a dress with thin straps. I don’t have many of them, I personally have a few, from Calvin Klein Collection to & Other Stories. All work well: if you want a little more inconspicuous, then with a jeans jacket or, on the contrary, with a shiny leather jacket. Well, again, a shirt is a new pajamas (with this, my pajamas have not come out of my favorite things this season).

For me personally, the leather jackets are a thing of the past, and now they have been replaced by avant-garde jackets Ab [Screenwear]. These are expensive, hand-made jackets made of leather and shielding synthetic material in New York. Sometimes people cross the road to ask what brand it is. One such item of clothing decides the whole image, and here it is better not to save. Such an object is closer to art than to seasonal fashion, behind such a thing is the philosophy of the designer-artist, who does not become obsolete by the end of summer.

If we talk about trends, then the best of the popular, for my taste, things with a lowered shoulders. The most beautiful ones were made by Andrea Jiapei Li and J.W.Anderson, designers whom I respect very much. But it was this trend that was quickly picked up and expropriated by mass market brands, so things with a “randomly” perfectly fallen sleeve can be found in any mall.

Shoes and accessories this season and always keep in strict unisex minimalism. Winter “martins” in the summer I change to ingenious shoes Yang Li, and with a dress shirt I wear intelligent mules of Maryam Nassir Zadeh. The weather in Moscow and New York is similar, the states are the same: very tough and a little less tough. Just kidding But shoes and open sandals are always needed. Well, dress shirt, men's clothing, reinterpreted by a woman. Perhaps this is not the most distinctive thing of the season, but I think this is the basis of the wardrobe.

Few in any other country in the world are people so desperately happy about summer, as in Russia. No wonder - finally you can take off your wardrobe, which you had to wear throughout the long and painful winter. But here, of course, there is a danger of slipping to the other extreme - to undress too much, and it is unpleasant for me to see such things on the city streets. For me, summer is the opportunity to wear simple, practical, comfortable things without loading them on top with additional layers: a monochrome T-shirt, pants or shorts with a sufficient number of pockets and sneakers. And if in the evening they pull on dances, then one very elegant thing can decorate the same ensemble - a golden jacket, a sweatshirt in sequins or a souvenir jacket with Chinese embroidery. If I were a girl, the amount of things in the summer would generally be reduced to one, and therefore I always envied the girls: put on a dress and was already dressed. Though at work, at least for a holiday.

Similar basic things that go very well, sit perfectly, are pleasant to the body and are loved (it is on them that you can easily build your daily wardrobe) and in winter and summer you can buy it in the mass market, in premium and luxury brands - like everyone is more accustomed to their means. But if the opportunity to pamper yourself and buy something completely special from a not very democratic designer is not given out regularly, then in that case I’m for sophistication! Let it be a wow-thing that, as they say, will stop the show. This season my heart has stopped at two fun collections - “americans” Marc Jacobs and “pankuhs” MM6 Martin Margiela.

The chances of a new thing to become the pearl of your wardrobe for many years will greatly increase if you link its purchase with some very special event in your life or - if you are genuinely interested in the fashion world - an important event in your favorite home. For example, a catwalk dress from this latest collection of Albert Elbaz for Lanvin, at the head of which he stood for 14 years, will be really cool someday to be inherited by his daughter.

In general, I would not want to impose anything on anyone, just stating a few really beautiful, in my opinion, trends on the catwalks in this trendy season. These are tops and dresses with a lowered shoulders, like those of Stella McCartney or Proenza Schouler. Of course, placers sequins (Marni, Emilio Pucci), an abundance of silver (Isabel Marant, Lacoste) and greetings from the overly trim 80s (Loewe, Louis Vuitton). The 90s, too, continue to warm the soul - the silk combination dress seems to be the final hit of the people this summer, and I'm only for (for me, Francisco Costa designed the most beautiful one for Calvin Klein Collection). Among the accessories are chains decorated sandals and bags (Proenza Schouler, Calvin Klein Collection, Alexander Wang) and very large sizes earrings (Céline, Emilio Pucci, Loewe).
