Opportunity to quit and break for a weekend in Odessa or Tbilisi, without thinking about visas; pomegranate harvest in Azerbaijan, wine - in Moldova; childhood memories of the dolphinarium in Batumi or of the parents' trip to Gagra - there are many reasons to choose a city in an almost native former Soviet republic for the next trip.
We all have long been dreaming of a summer vacation, but only the most prudent and responsible have planned it. Someone for the tenth time will go to the same village in Italy, someone went on about friends, someone will go to a place that he had long dreamed of. But if you are still tormented by uncertainty, we offer traditional summer entertainment - music festivals, where you can go together, a company or even one.
Starting something new is always a bit scary - especially when you are sitting in a wheelchair, especially when you have fragile bones that can break from a slight fall or the slightest impact. For years I have been looking for reasons why I should never leave my family for more than a few meters, and if I couldn’t find it, then my resourceful mother would come up with a hundred reasons for me.
Every year, the undeveloped territories on the map remain less and less, and the question of where to go on vacation is becoming increasingly difficult. Someone finds "his place" and starts to go there year after year, and someone tries to check in all cities of the world. But there is another way to diversify the holidays - to learn not directions, but types of activity.
The desire to go on a long journey matured with me for a long time. At some point, European countries were pretty well studied, I graduated from the institute, I had experience in Russian architectural bureaus, and it seemed to me that this is the best time to go to get professional experience abroad and at the same time “see the world” one friend of mine laughs at me.
In the spring, I especially want to quit and go on a trip. But even the most spontaneous trip requires minimal preparation (ticketing, booking of accommodation) and, most importantly, cultural planning. We chose the coolest events of this spring in European and not only cities, picked up a couple of alternative options for them and found out where to stop.
The idea of traveling to Mongolia came to me about a year ago, during another desperate adventure - I tried to get from the capital of Laos to Vietnam on a walking bicycle with a basket bought on the local market for $ 50. It was a crazy summer half a year long when it seemed that everything was possible at all.
In October 2014, I went to Latin America for a year. The region attracted me with its obscurity and remoteness. I started saving for the biggest adventure in my life long before my departure. She first put off wages, working in a trade marketing business of a large company, and then participated in various summer city festivals with my waffle project The Bakersville.
Boredom is one of the main driving forces of this world. It seems that it was from her that my story with Poland began: at the beginning of the eleventh class I decided that I was bored, it was time to change something and arrange a test for myself. For example, to learn from scratch to live in another country and in another language. The only thing that tied me to the place and did not allow me to break right now was the hotly disliked lyceum - so it seemed to me the most logical decision to go abroad for higher education immediately after graduation.
I moved to Chile almost three years ago. My relatives, friends, work as an editor on a fashion channel and my usual everyday life remained in Moscow - a loved one was waiting for him in Chile. During the two years that we met, there were trips to St. Petersburg, where he then lived, to Madrid, where he soon moved, then naturally followed flights from Moscow to Santiago and crazy romantic dates, when we met in the middle of the globe - for example, Santorini.

MAY'S HOLIDAYS WE ARE WAITING with no less impatience than the New Year, but unlike the winter, spring holidays are traditionally divided into two short periods. This year we rest for four and three days, respectively, which means there are two chances to go on a short trip somewhere nearby. We have already told where to patriotically spend the May in Russia, and now we recommend options for those who are not averse to going abroad.
I will say right away: I really love to travel, but I never have money for a comfortable rest. Therefore, when in the middle of July my young man found almost free low-cost airline tickets to Bratislava for October, I said: “Uh, you! And where is it? But what difference does it make, let's go!”. This was the beginning of our preparation for traveling to unknown places.
Once it was difficult for me to leave home for more than two weeks, I could not imagine how I could travel without a voucher, a good hotel, a paunchy suitcase and a noisy company. Carefully made a vacation plan, where every day was painted by the minute, and began to pack a suitcase two weeks before the trip.
IN RUBRIC ON TRAVELING we tell about the trips of our heroines. In this issue, Tanya Rodina, director of social media, shares her experience of traveling to Portugal for the most unexpected vacation - a combination of yoga and surfing. How did I come up with it? About a year ago, I translated a large article for Yoga Journal about yoga and surfing.
In order to significantly save on travel, you can always stay at a hostel, but often you have to sacrifice your personal space, your own ideas about cleanliness and the ability to sleep. In the past few years, hostels have evolved markedly, and those that have opened relatively recently are an order of magnitude more comfortable than veterans of the genre.
Rain, cold, melancholy - this is how you can briefly describe my feelings from my first visit to Geneva in February 2015. The city that winter Sunday was so empty that I wanted to take a photo: I am in the center of Geneva, the bus stop, the tram rails and not a soul around. All shops are closed, products were sold only at the airport or at the railway station.
In October 2009, New Zealand Auckland met me with the spring sun and a fresh sea wind, which hit me in the nose as soon as I got off the plane. My name is Tamara Belevich, then I was 22 years old, and for the first time I made such a long flight. In New Zealand, I came to learn English and begin the first paragraph of the ambitious plan on emigration, which we developed in Moscow with my husband, Dmitry.
In the next issue of the travel column of our heroines - the story of Elina Chebboch about a spontaneous trip to the second largest city in Brazil. Where to spend days and nights, what to eat, where to have fun, how much to spend and what is better not to do - in a guide that is as emotional and colorful as the Brazilian way of life. Preparing for the trip It is difficult to be objective in the text about Rio, since the probability that I would not like it there is zero.
TEN YEARS BACK I HAVE SEEN PHOTOS WITH FOREIGN PLAYBACK: THE SUN IS RISING FROM WHITE DUST AND PEOPLE IN SUITS, LOST IN THE ENDLESS SPACE. I then thought: "Lord, how lucky the photographer! This is some incredible world, another planet." I didn’t even know that it was a festival and even more so how to get there.
