The main achievements of the heroines of the series in 2014
We continue to sum up the year and now we are conducting a revision of the inspirational achievements of the main TV heroes of the year. In 2014, the serial heroines had a lot: someone climbed the career ladder, someone coped with family difficulties, well, and someone (finally) met your dad. We analyzed the achievements of imaginary girls - and let their patience, diligence and endurance serve as inspiration for you in the coming year, no matter what purpose, big or small, you conceived.

Daenerys Targaryen
Game of Thrones, HBO
During the series, Daenerys has gone a long way from a frightened girl to an imperious ruler and liberator, however, with the enormous responsibility that she took upon herself, there came to be proportionate problems. And the last season of "Game of Thrones" is a clear proof of this. After Daenerys resolutely freed the inhabitants of the conquered lands from slavery and severely punished their former masters, many came to her throne with a request to allow them to return to slavery. Without the necessary economic support, the conquest of Khalisi was brought not so much good as destruction. In the fourth season, the dragon mother had to make a difficult decision when it came to raising her "children." Fearing that the dragons had become a threat to her subjects, she locked them in the catacombs - chaining her own "children" into the same shackles she actively fought during her entire crusade.
Olivia pope
Scandal, ABC
At the beginning of the season, Olivia honestly tried to stick with her decision to stay forever on a tropical island with her (other) lover, relaxed reading the “Disappeared”. However, as the series continues to prove to us, it is pointless to swear on prison and from prison - Washington is luring Pope back with literally intrigues, scandals and investigations. The current season of “Scandal” is not over yet, but in 2014, Olivia experienced more than one fateful event. The main thing is that she finally made a strong-willed and very correct decision: to stop rushing between two fires - President Fitz and Jack - and choose herself. However, the joy did not last long: it seems that Pope will become a catalyst for the war between the United States and Angola. At the end of the series, before leaving Scandal for a break, Olivia is abducted - thus, she partly repeated the fate of the heroine of her summer reading book.
Selina Mayer
Vice President, HBO
Selina Meyer began as the vice-president of the United States in the comedy series of the same name, but in the third season, the events began to develop rapidly. Maier entered the presidential race, but after a record emerged in which she was unflatteringly traversed by her sponsors, she realized that her campaign was going to hell. However, this was where the bright side was found: the problem is resolved by itself and Mayer becomes president after her predecessor announces his departure in order to care for his sick wife. We believe that Selina will cope with the new position - another question is how many crises she will have to overcome in this way.
Tracy McConnell
HOW I MET YOUR MOM, CBS
Many do not recognize the name, and this is not accidental - by it the heroine is called on the force of times, usually limited to just “mother”. Tracy - the same mom that the main character of the series Ted tried to meet for nine years. After a dozen relationships and a couple of coincidences sent by heaven, the two finally met, although it was hard to believe. In the final season of the epic about friends from New York, Tracy finally meets the father of her children - and in the future you can simply not believe, in accordance with the second version of the ending of the series.
Claire Underwood
House of Cards, Netflix
As it became clear from the first series of the show, Claire Underwood will achieve everything he wants - at any price. The cruelty of the heroine towards others in the name of her own goals has long become her calling card. At the same time, it is still too early to brand Mrs. Underwood soulless: many of her actions are due to past events, which we still do not know enough about. In the last season of the show, Claire had to face her rapist, but she did not allow the ghosts of the past to take over and get over the problem with the usual methods. The heroine turned a painful story into a PR tool, and in the process destroyed the life of the presidential couple, so that all this played into the hands of her husband Frank. So, Claire's husband climbed to the last step of his career, and she became the first lady of the United States.
Carrie Matheson
Homeland, Showtime
"Homeland" returned with a really good season, not disappointing in their plot twists. The action of the fourth part takes place in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where Carrie becomes the head of the CIA base. Matheson managed to leave behind her scandalous past, dismissal in disgrace and take a leadership position, she did not stop at that. Motherhood became the most serious test for the heroine, but she gradually assumes this role, not succumbing to depression and the desire to get rid of the child every now and then. Carrie’s decision to leave her daughter to her sister, while she herself is in Pakistan, does not look like an escape from responsibility, but a sensible solution to the problem. At work, the heroine, too, everything is fine: Matheson rescued her friend and mentor Saul from the captivity, simultaneously tracking a dangerous terrorist.
Molly Solverson
FARGO, FX
In the second season, “Fargo”, the heroine Molly Solverson will not be, at least at a conscious age - but there will be her father and mother. Anyway, the character Allison Tolman naturally became one of the most beloved by the audience. Molly worked on the case for two, and her ingenuity and sometimes non-standard approach saved the investigation from inevitable closure. At first, the sheriff’s not-so-quick assistant, after the tragic death of the chief, as well as the resignation of his follower, Solverson herself heads the police station of the ill-fated small town in the middle of Minnesota - and copes with this work with a bang.
Leslie Knock
Parks and recreation areas, NBC
Leslie Noup, chief expert on parks and awkward incidents, has been moving ahead for six seasons in a row and no obstacles can stop her. During the release of the series, Knope managed to win the election, become a member of the city council and head the Office of National Parks in Chicago. The pseudo-documentary series with irreconcilable honesty shows the cheerful and homely life of Leslie and her friends, giving the bureaucratic work a magical charm. This year Leslie found out that she will have triplets, and we already know what the heroine is waiting for in three years: growing children, her favorite work and office, which she, of course, transferred from Chicago to the third floor of the Pawnee City Council building.
Amy Farah Fowler
The Big Bang Theory, CBS
Amy's accomplishments are much more personal: an independent and successful scholar, Amy Farah Fowler successfully defeats her former shyness and saves Sheldon from loneliness. Her friendship with Bernadette and Penny is as strong as ever, although there are problems. Amy finally ceased to appear as an uninvited guest in the group of friends from the Big Bang Theory, becoming her full-fledged, if not honorary, member. Judge for yourself, only she managed to really get Sheldon out of her cold closet and show that he, too, has feelings. In the previous season, we were either delighted or horrified to witness how Sheldon kisses Amy of his own accord, but no matter how much the creators were teasing us with the idea of other feelings between adults, this season Amy didn’t jump will succeed.
Hannah Horvath
Girls, HBO
Hannah Horvath in the last season of "Girls" has made an important professional step - she was accepted into the program for writers in Iowa. In the third season, Hannah finally signed a contract for the book, which, of course, echoes the achievements of the actress and director Lena Dunham in real life. The book Dunham "Not such a girl" was not just a bestseller, but one of the most discussed books of the year because of her uncompromising in the details of his personal life. But back to the "Girls": after the publisher of Hannah passed away, the heroine realized that she would not be able to publish her work for another three years. We hope that the writing workshop should radically change Hannah’s career in the new season, since only a couple of weeks are left before its premiere.
Mackenzie McHale
News Service, HBO
Last season, "News Service" was no less loud than what is happening in the series. Many were challenged by the storyline about a university student who had been subjected to violence, and the creator of the series, Aaron Sorkin, had stolen dubious emails and leaked them to the network - neither one nor the other had discredited the News Service itself. The final episode of the show was released just a couple of days ago and in an enchanting way closed the short but very good series. After the death of the president of the television network Charlie, Atlantis World Media’s CEO Leona was persuaded to nominate Mackenzie McHale for his post. Clever and principled Mackenzie had previously been a brilliant executive producer on the channel. We are sure that if News Service had at least one more season planned, Mackenzie would definitely return ACN to the top spots in the spectator rating and would be able to save the channel from the dubious innovations of the new owner.
Peggy Olsen
madmen AMC
In Mad Men, all the female characters are at their best, so the choice between Joan and Peggy was not an easy one. Nevertheless, we decided to dwell on the latter - after all, her successes are buried in the belt of many others. When the series began, Peggy was a gray secretary mouse that no one took into account, but pretty soon had to reckon with it. For seven seasons, the former boss Peggy - Don - managed to achieve everything globally to screw up and return to work with the condition of probation. Peggy, on the other hand, walked up the career ladder for a long time and now became the boss of her own ex-boss. Before sending the series to a break before the grand finale, the creators of "Mad Men" showed how Olsen took the presentation to potential customers of "Burger Chef" and held it brilliantly.
Alicia Florrick
Good wife cbs
Alicia’s career is almost the most impressive on the list - from the disgraced prosecutor’s humiliated wife, she rose to the owner of her own law firm. At the same time, Alicia found the strength to leave the unfaithful husband behind, became a strong professional and found business partners. On the love front, too, everything is interesting, although it fits the status of “everything is complicated”: having survived the death of her lover, the heroine gained a new romantic interest. The main achievement of Alicia is the decision to start her own political career and run for state prosecutors. Where her election race will lead - we will find out in the spring of 2015.
